I LOVE gem stones - now that I have tried glass beads and sea glass nails, I am wondering if anyone has done gem stone skittles nails?
I have mostly seen gem stone nails done with gel, and if you have done/seen something like this, I would love to try following tips or tutorials from lacqueristas much more talented than I am!

I have been looking for nude color + fine particle magnetics available in the US. I want to make the understated glass bead I see on Asian social media.
So far Cracked, BKL, ILNP, Holo Taco etc… only have magnetics that are either nude or fine particles, but not both at the same time.
I decided to give good old amazon a try and bought the $5.99/6 bottle Open Live polish - worst case scenario it becomes my practice set.
It was exactly what I was looking for. This video shows a side-by-side comparison with Cracked Hush Hush. You can see how much more sparkly Cracked looks, while OpenLive has more of a soft glow.
However, it seems like the effect disperses after some time.
EDIT: a comment said this polish chips after only a few days. Just wanted to make sure you are aware of this risk before buying!
Another comment also mentioned the risk of cheap ingredients, so I added the photo of the packaging below (it’s not available online).
My questions are:
- Do I need a stronger magnet?
- Spin slower?
- Magnetize the color coat(s) longer?
- Magnetize the top coat longer?
- Use a different top coat?
- Wait longer before applying the top coat?
If anyone has a tried-and-true protocol with this. I’ll really appreciate it.
*Bonus points if you could share experience working with cheaper Amazon polishes!
