Such a ghastly fellow. So much fun to have a go at painting him. I used ‘Death Metal’ metallic as it seemed quite fitting.
Still quite new at this but having fun!

Anybody else painted the Amethyst Knellmage?

Choosing the colours I didn’t have the right kind of blue for the magic flame, so I painted it in a more naturalistic way.
Went in for the purples on his cloak and clothing, because he is an amethyst knellmage after all.

If you’ve painted this model what influenced your choice of colours?

Did you follow the colour scheme from the picture on the box or choose your own direction?

Which details did you enjoy painting the most?

For me it was the scythe and the flame. I almost bought a Citadel paint to use for the flame but didn’t in the end because all my colours are from The Army Painter and I wasn’t sure if crossing the streams paint wise would be a good idea? So I stuck to the same brand and used the colours I already own.

I’m a recent beginner at painting mini models so it’s all a bit of a learning curve for me.

I’ve just finished the last mini from the beginner paint sets I purchased from The Army Painter.

I’ve never done this before and I really enjoyed it. Am keen to try some more and am hoping to ask those of you with more experience
if there are any model sets that you would recommend to a beginner as a next project?
Or are there any companies that are particularly worth taking a look at for this kind of thing.
I’m UK based and looking to buy online.
I’d quite like a small set of characters with some personality, maybe some goblins, not too naturalistic.

I’m looking for ideas of where to start and hope that somebody can help point me in the right direction!
