Planning my 7 days Lecce - Matera - Bari

I've made a post few days ago asking what kind of cities to visit since is my first time leaving my country, its also my first time seriously trying to plan thoroughly so I hope I did the right thing:

I'm gonna arrive in Bari airport on the 5th of June, where I have rented a car for a few days (my first time renting a car too so i hope it goes well). I'm going to drive to Lecce where I booked a place for 3 days, I am going to have the car there too since many people recommended a car because the public transport is not that good, so I can go to the beach and also visit some other cities around Lecce, if you have some recommendations and places to go see, where to eat etc.

After the checkout I'll drive to Matera where I booked a night at, since I think spending a day and night there is enough

The next day I will drive to Bari where I will leave the rented car, and I plan to chill out for the remaining days of my stay

What so you think of this? I hope I made the right call and I'll have a good time for my first time in Italy, what do you recommended doing/going to!

Also, is AUTOMANIA a good renting company?

Place to visit for a first timer

Traveling for the first time in Italy, we have plane tickets to Bari, but looking at the available places to stay there, there isnt something that catches our eyes, rather I've seen some places around Bari for better prices and more luxurious

What other cities, that you can get to by train, do you recommend to stay in? I've heard Bari is a more popular place for travel (everyone from I know seems to go to Bari), but I've seen people on Reddit talking about better places you can visit.

Do you have any recommendation for places to stay in? Best if we can get stays close to the train station to be able to go from the airport and back, we want a nice stay, realitvely cheap, realitvely close to the beach, that's about it, any recommendations are welcome!
