Grumpy woman at train station
Bit of a rant I suppose. Always trying to be helpful and positive but some people just don't appreciate it.
Stepped off the train at Waverley today and saw a woman obviously having some bother with her QR code. I chirped up and offered some friendly assistance and was totally ignored.
I felt like an idiot, like I'd just broken some social norm by being a human being. Anyway, told the station staff she was fiddling in her bag with a ticking box covered in wires and fucked off upstairs to Spoons.
Hilarity and titilation aside, if these allegations turn out to be fabricated, we must show contrition and support for our girl.
Yes, her cannons are now canon. Fine. We can't undo the past.
But we are part of the finance sector - a typically male-dominated industry, in which a hitherto hard-working employee has potentially been slandered and humiliated, involving sexual activity. It sucks on so many levels.
Such global spotlight and shame can be too much for some, like the nurse in the UK tricked into giving details about the Royal family over the phone: she ended her life. Most people are not built for this. It's overwhelming.
We must stand by our fellow professional in finance. Respectfully.
