Draft 2 of the Dublin street scene — changes the models around such as flags, birds and an alien... (built with Lureo)

Posted a rough test of this earlier but here’s Draft 2!

Set the whole scene up inside Lureo and locked the models to street coordinates. The tracking holds up way better with the updated lighting adjustments when panning straight up into the sky.

Draft 1 of a sky scene over Dublin using Lureo (working on an updated version)

Messing around with outdoor spatial placements on Grafton St today.

This is Draft 1 of a scene I built in Lureo with a flying car, UFO, and blimp floating near Powerscourt.

Currently tweaking the scale, lighting, and occlusions to make the sky tracking look even better for the updated version, but anchoring assets to street coordinates without coding makes iterating super fast.

What do you think of the perspective and scale so far?

Creating easy brand AR brand activations on Lureo

Hey everyone,

I’ve been testing outdoor spatial placements mapped along the Liffey quays right near the VHI building.

Instead of traditional billboards, the concept uses WebAR to anchor 3D visuals directly into the sky above iconic architecture. Anyone passing by can scan a QR code on their phone browser to see it mapped in real time with no app download required.

Built using Lureo. Would love to hear thoughts is spatial WebAR the future of street-level activations, or a gimmick?

Using WebAR sky-anchoring to turn corporate headquarters into 3D billboards... feedback on this VHI building concept?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been testing outdoor spatial placements mapped near the VHI building along the Dublin quays.

Instead of traditional digital signage, the idea is placing interactive 3D elements (portals, floating brand geometry, animated particles) anchored directly into the sky space around corporate headquarters.

When users walk past, a quick QR scan opens a WebAR scene in their browser that interacts with the real building geometry.

Curious on the marketing side: Do you see AR spatial activations around physical brand assets becoming a bigger staple for Out-of-Home (OOH) advertising over standard billboards?

Built a digital doorway into Trinity’s Long Room Library using WebAR

Quick experiment at Trinity College Dublin! I aligned a scale 3D scan of the front entrance so looking through your phone turns the physical archway into a portal into the Long Room Library.

No app needed just runs right in the browser. Would love any feedback on the scale and tracking!

Turned the Dublin Spire into a giant donut stack (testing desk-to-street workflow)

Quick test showing the workflow from laptop to site. Mapped the 3D donut models to the Dublin Spire coordinates in editor, generated a WebAR link, and walked out to O'Connell Street to test the tracking and scale.

Whole setup took under two minutes, running entirely in browser without an app download.

Mapped floating 3D hearts over Liberty Hall from my laptop and tested it live on the rooftop

Wanted to see how fast I could set up a real world WebAR scene from a desk.

Mapped a cluster of animated 3D hearts to the map coordinates right around Liberty Hall in Dublin, generated the link via Lureo, and tested the tracking directly from the balcony.

Works completely in-browser with zero app downloads. Let me know what you think!

Updated my Coke WebAR concept over the Dublin skyline

Hey everyone, updated a location-based AR concept I’ve been working on in Dublin. Mapped a giant Coke can, ice, and floating bubbles over the Convention Centre building down by the Quays.

Built it in Lureo using map coordinates so it locks to the real building, and launched it via WebAR so there's no app download needed when testing it on site.

Curious what you guys think of the tracking and scale stability at this size as the camera moves along the river. Any feedback or thoughts welcome!

Testing location-based 3D placements on Google Maps (built on Lureo)

Been testing out placing 3D scenes on real streets using a site called Lureo.

You basically just pick a spot on Google Maps in the browser, drop your 3D model onto those coordinates, and then scan a QR code with your phone to see it live out on the street with no app needed.

Placing stuff on a map is way faster than doing full 3D scans of a spot, though GPS wobble on phones around tall buildings can still be annoying to deal with.

Also heads up for any 3D artists here—they actually just put out a Creator Fund that pays people to build 3D templates for them, so might be worth looking into if you build assets anyway.

Anyone else messing around with location-based 3D stuff?

Testing occluder meshes on the Dublin Spire to get 3D assets to hide behind real structures

Nothing ruins the illusion of AR faster than a model rendering on top of a building it’s clearly behind.

Been testing outdoor occlusion on the Spire in Dublin using simplified invisible occluder geometry. Setting up the depth mask makes a huge difference in grounding the asset, but keeping the polycount low enough for mobile browsers without getting rough edges is a fun balancing act.

Testing persistent world-scale WebAR on the Dublin quays (no app needed)

Set up this Coke activation concept right across from the Convention Centre in Dublin. Mapped the spot on desktop, dropped the 3D assets in, and then walked up to it on my phone browser to see if the tracking would hold up as I walked right up under it.

Pretty stoked with how solid the tracking feels without needing a custom app build.

Figured out a quick way to preview mobile browser tracking from desktop without heavy pipelines.

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to share a workflow test I’ve been messing around with for testing layouts out in the wild.

Getting 3D assets to load and render properly on a mobile browser without lagging out Safari or Chrome used to be a massive headache. Instead of uploading and building constantly, I’ve been using a fast QR code pipeline to pull the scene directly onto the phone camera to check spatial locking on the fly. Makes iterating on animations so much quicker.

Let me know if you have any questions about the model setup or asset optimization!

Testing a WebAR concept from the desktop editor straight to a live location via a QR code setup.

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to share a quick test showing how fast it is to go from the desktop editor to checking the tracking out in the wild.

Getting 3D assets to render on a mobile browser without lagging out Safari or Chrome used to be a massive headache. Being able to just hit test, scan a QR code, and instantly see how the animations lock onto the environment makes messing around with concepts so much faster.
