OK - how do you socially transition?!?
Recently posted about my wife and I having a partial break, and the hurt behind it. I appreciate all the kind remarks.
In a way, though, it's also been freeing. There was definitely more worry than I realized about me progressing with my transition leading to a split, but since it's kind of happening anyways, I'm feeling a bit more motivated to move forward.
TBH, work is still my biggest blocker, so I'm not sure it'll happen any time soon(though I do work remotely, so maybe I just spend more time off camera?)... but it's definitely got me thinking more about how this would all happen.
So here are my questions:
1)I've got 2 kids (7&8), and I do a lot(most) of drop-offs and pick ups. This is definitely a tricky bit for me, since I don't want to cause them to be bullied - for those of you with young kids, how did you manage this part?
2)How do I approach this with people who I see fairly frequently but I'm not super close with(neighbours/other parents at school, etc)... do I tell them first before I start doing anything, or just have it be a surprise?
3)Do I do it just all at once, or gradually add more feminine styling until one day I just say fuck it and throw on a dress?(probably next summer, since fall is approaching)
The answer to these questions is probably "do what feels right for you", but I guess I'm looking for experiences people have had along these lines.
For added context, I'm in a medium sized conservative leaning town(20K population) in Ontario... bunch of businesses on the main street have progress flag stickers, there is a progress flag cross-walk in town, we do a pride celebration, but the local facebook pages also *bitch* about all these things, there are houses that will put up signs for the far-right party during election season, and we elected a Conservative MP during the last general election.... so it's a mixed bag.
Neighbourhood kids also frequently play on our front lawn/back yard(got a playground and trampoline, nbd)... so that might become an issue if their parents are dicks.
Anyways, looking forward to hearing what you wonderful people have to say!
Thanks!
