So, this bot somehow decided to sacrifice himself

It's a standard ingame bot, not Sophy, decided that he thinks independently now, and that I don't deserve to finish the race, and that he will gladly sacrifice himself for this sabotage

Anything similar happened to you?

So I managed to hit 663kph by modifying Tomahawk's gear ratio. Is this the fastest achievable speed in the game?

I wonder if there is a way to better the number

How are you guys fairing on this?

For the life of me I don't know how to pull out these 2 seconds from my anoos, to get gold. Obviosuly, exits to straights are crucial, but where else do you cut substantial time? What are some not obvious ways you've discovered?

PS: I've golded all missions, all licenses and Nordshleife time trial, but this here - is a difficult challenge too

I can't believe I've done it

Apparently, there is less than 1% of us, who passed. I am honoured to join such a small club, this isn't about me though - I'd like to give some of my obsevations for those who are looking to gold this:

The challenge isn't as complex as people think. If you pass Sector 1 and Sector 8 - you have a shot at golding the whole thing. The understeer update made the cars refuse to turn under load - it is Sector 1 and 8 that require the most amount of consequent turns in opposite directions under load - which makes them the hardest to pass. You work around that:

  1. Brake earlier, and roll the car around the corner without load. It wil feel counter-intuitive, but braking in this BMW must be really early
  2. Prioritise exit speed, know exactly where the exits to the straights are, how many straights are on the map - this is where you focus the most, you cut the most time
  3. Position the car for a comfortable entry to the next corner. Basicially - think one corner in advance, don't jeopardise your next entry with uncomfortable position from the previous exit
  4. No need to simply try over and over, rather have a plan (brake markers, shift markers) - as plan becomes better, you make more observations and your little tricks add up to saved time - you pass. You pass the entire thing by refining your algorythm
  5. The car is slidy and heavy, the technical sections are windy - in unfavourable conditions - you can be unconventional. For example, I torque out from some corners in 2nd and 1st gear - highly unusual for Nordshleife, but if it makes me faster - what do I care for rules? You do you on this challenge, build around your understanding of advantage
  6. Regular practice beats pushing yourself. He passed - who showed up, not he who is talented. Every time you come and have a spin - makes you faster. You don't just give up, because it seemed hard the first time - human brain learns on repetition. Every time you have a go - you aren't what you used to be, you are a little faster each entry. We adapt to the goal over time

PS I golded the licenses and missions, but for some reason - this feels more fun, more special. Worth the hours I've spent on it. And 5 mil is a nice little touch of course =)

The infamous Sector 8 (Nordshleife)

Have you passed it after the understeer update? It took my best shifting, best focus and best knowledge to bring this understeer cow to gold. Practically every spin out on the track was different from the previous. It took around 150 attempts, I'd say (Jesus) Harder than any license test. Somehow completed though. My run - if you need ideas on how to pass it

Share interesting information about Roman kings

Let me start.. There was an Etruscan king - Lars Porsenna, who seized control of Rome in 508 BCE (after the last king was banished and monarchy abolished) who, instead of restoring roman monarhy, imposed a very harsh peace treaty, interrupring the timeline of the Republic. His extravagant tomb (Pliny the Elder describes it as a labyrinth with pyramids and wind-chimes) was never found

Alright so the Jaguar XJ13 '66 you need for the LeMans achievement is in stock now, get it while you can

It was the last car I needed. Got the achievement.. Thanks Gran Turismo for pocketing around 50 million from me for three cars. Cheers! I guess I'll take them old LeMans cars for a spin. But first - selfie..

Could the historical Vorenus and Pullo have survived all the way to Pharsalus and beyond? What was the mortality rate of the centurions?

The two became legendary due to a personal mention by Caesar in Commentarii Di Bello Gallico. Known for their bitter rivalry as well as their ferocity on the battlefield. We do not know what happens to them after the mention, but how long would a centurion survive in a continuous war on average. I imagine centurions are in the front lines at any given battle

Skip to the second half of the video. I like special colours, I think the U9 pulls off Aztec green well

For the Yang Wang to drive a little nicer you get racing pads, carbon brakes, all three weight cuts, fully custom suspension, where you set:

112 116

6 4

27 25

40 45

2.50 2.75

3.1 2.9

0 0

The car is still a cow after that, but it will be little more enjoyable during the Le Mans race

Only looks like a problem, the race is actually very enjoyable. Even though it's raining hard, bots are quite slow, you breeze through, enjoying a very realistic rainy Fuji

If anyone needs a tip: start on full wets, with decent lap time by lap 7 you are P1, at which point you pit for RM, as the driving line dries quickly. Lap 8-10 you drive on RMs to the finish line. Obviously stay away from the wet parts... If you are on the cautious side, you can opt for inters.

Recommended car: Honda NSX GT500 (but it's like cheating, the car is too good for it's 800pp)

I'm no record holder, but here is how to get a 49.2, if you are completely clueless about the lines. Make sure it's no TC, manual shifting

Everything is too epic to believe in this story.

  1. Caligula's two extravagant ships, built on lake Nemi, with technologies thought to be developed much later

  2. The ships thought to be a myth, even by historians. Proved to be real, recovered by draining the entire lake

  3. When Caligula underwent complete erasure from Roman history - instead of repurposing the ships - Roman authorities ordered to sink them (ridiculously expensive ships)

  4. Up until XX century - all this time - they have been on the bottom of the lake, largely forgotten by the world

  5. All the features were real - marble, mosaic floors, heating and plumbing, and amenities such as baths

Unfortunately the finds were destroyed during WWII. However we know everything down to exact details and measurements
