Calculus II Preparation

Hi friends,

I hope y’all are doing well! I wanted to ask for some advice about preparing for Calculus 2. What materials specifically from Calc 1, Pre-Calculus, or Trigonometry should I review beforehand to be successful?

From what I’ve heard, some of the topics we’ll be covering include integration by parts, inverse trigonometric and exponential integrals, trigonometric integrals and trig substitution, improper integrals, volume using washer and disc methods, arc length, applications of integration, sequences and series, and other general Calc 2 concepts. I just want to make sure I have a strong enough foundation before classes start.

Are there any specific topics, formulas, identities, algebra skills, or trig concepts that you would strongly recommend reviewing over the summer from Calc 1, Pre-Calc, or Trig?

Thank you!

Question about Final grades

Hi friends, these are my final grades from this semester and last semester of high school. As an additional note I go to a academically rigorous high school and every single course offered is at the college level. I even dual enrolled some classes. Unfortunately, this semester I received one B because I did poorly on an exam at the beginning of the semester in a class where the exams determine 65% of the grade, but I learned my lesson and did well and the rest of the exams however unfortunately, the damage had already been done. Next year I plan on taking even more science classes like organic chemistry, zoology, mathematical method for physics, and polymer chemistry.

My main question is how will colleges view my one B will they view it negatively and will it greatly influence my college admissions results?
