Next week begins the releases of the Fall heavy hitters with Gears E Day on 10/6, followed by MW4 on 10/27 and then GTA VI on 11/19. Between all of the coverage and news on those games (along with the other games releasing) it’s going to be pretty crowded for media outlets to cover DLC for games that have already been out for almost a year already. With that being said, I truly think we won’t see DLC 2 releasing until December, which makes the most sense in all reality. It’ll be around the 1 year anniversary of the game, cross-promote with Avengers Doomsday and have time to get that media coverage it deserves after the dust settles a bit from the AAA games releasing.

A big indicator too is that Marvel Games has no media planned at NYCC next week. Unless it shadow drops next Monday (which would be a great surprise) I don’t see it coming out until December, and I’m perfectly ok with that. If it gives the team more time to flesh out the DLC and make it to the quality we are hoping for, by all means Tribute take your time - we know you’ll deliver the goods when it’s ready!

A Reddit user posted this art a while back (before DLC 1) and practically got Cyclops spot on (minus the cowl). They provided artwork for Nightcrawler and now has me thinking that maybe they know something we don’t 👀

Love the artwork, credit to the original artist. If you have more potential character artwork please share! We would love to see Hawkeye, Darkhawk, The Vision and Gambit in this Cosmic Invasion artwork style!

No announcement today, which leads me to suspect we may get some kind of announcement next Monday (9/21) the first day of fall. They probably wanted to stay clear of all the media covering Wolverine this week since it’s releasing tomorrow.

NYCC is four weeks away which would be an ideal time for the DLC to release or have a playable build/demo at the event. Only time will tell 👀

History has told us that Tribute likes to announce/release Marvel Cosmic Invasion news/releases on Mondays. December 1, 2025, May 18, 2026 and August 17, 2026 were all Mondays.

This can help us predict when we should expect the next announcement regarding the Doom DLC and its possible release. I believe we’ll be getting another announcement on one of the following Mondays in September and DLC 2 will be released on a Monday in either October or on Monday November 2nd. We’ll have to wait and see!

Three things I hope to see with DLC 2:

1. The addition of new enemy types - specifically Doombots. I hope that whatever this new mode brings it adds high replay value to the game and randomized enemy types to encounter - including new ones. Doombots and even Ultron bots would be a welcome addition and can vary in their types as well!

2. Cameos, cameos, and more cameos. If we are only getting 2 more playable characters then I hope we get to see other various Marvel characters in the background stages of this new mode. Even if they’re “Doom” controlled minions and show as evil versions of themselves or as mini boss fights, that’ll be awesome to include - similarly to the background characters in the Dimension Shellshock DLC for Shredder’s Revenge.

3. More unlockable character pallets - hopefully with the new mode, it brings more color options for each of the playable characters. They can be challenging to unlock and reward players for their playthrough, as long as it does not become too grindy.

Patiently waiting for these two to join the fray! Here’s hoping we see Hawkeye and Vision playable again in Marvel’s modern beat em up!

I do have a feeling Deadpool may be one of the final characters but I’d love to see these two take the final two spots! Hopefully there will be more to come in 2027!

Dotemu confirmed via their IG story that they are at Gamescom and it looks like they will have Marvel Cosmic Invasion on hand! When can we start to speculate that we’ll get some sort of announcement regarding DLC 2?

It seems like Marvel spreads the wealth with its games and keeps certain titles exclusive to certain consoles. From the image we can see the top row of games as multi console releases and the bottom as exclusives. Do you think we’ll see an Xbox exclusive Marvel game that’ll branch out to another genre of gaming? MUA3 explores the RPG/action elements but was exclusive to Nintendo. Marvel Tokon delivered Marvel their own fighting exclusives really to PlayStation.

What type of game would you like to see on Xbox? Perhaps a 3D arena fighter like Marvel Nemesis?

Dotemu will be at Gamescom next week. Hopefully they’ll release some more information regarding DLC 2! If not, then helpfully we’ll get some news (or a release)on or around NYCC in October!

Maybe they’ll do a cross promotion with the upcoming show and film coming out in the fall? I would not mind Vision or Doom, but I hope they continue to support the game well into 2027 with more DLC characters!

Out of these 8, which two characters do you think we’ll see in DLC pack 2? Which two do you think would generate the most buzz and sales for the company?

With a Fall 2026 release, do we think the DLC pack will come out early Fall (September) or possibly in December?

Arguments can be made for both - September/October to stay away from GTA 6’s release, but with all of those other big releases it may be overshadowed by other games. If it releases in late November/early December, it would align with its anniversary date and may stand out a bit more. Plus a December release could help promote Avengers Doomsday.

What do you all think?

This costume design would go hard in Cosmic Invasion. Fingers crossed he’ll be playable in DLC pack 2!

Now that we’ve seen all of the characters, I’m a little bummed that the only character that really leaned into the Japanese influence was Iron Man. I do like that characters are mostly true to their comic counterparts but I think the team could have leaned a little more into the Japanese influence. Blade kind of does the same as well, but I think they played it safe with him.

Not sure if anyone agrees. Maybe we’ll see some alternative costumes that will do so.

Darkhawk’s helmet is a little exaggerated but any of these three characters would go hard! Vision, Hawkeye and/or Darkhawk in DLC Pack 2!! Let’s go!!

Playing Marvel Ultimate Alliance and fighting the AIM troopers on the elevator brought me right back to Cosmic Invasion’s elevator fight! Crazy to see the references and inspirations! Also this year marks the 20th anniversary for MUA, let’s hope we see a 4th entry in that series or even a full remaster of the original!

If this isn’t writing on the wall for what’s to come for Ghost Riders team in Tokon, idk what is! New members are Daredevil, Blade, Ghost Rider, Moon Knight and Clea.

Do not be surprised if three out of the four seen in the image make it to Ghost Riders team! I can see them swapping Clea for Scarlet Witch though

Forgot to add several other instances when Hawkeye was added in as DLC or added to the “Ultimate” versions of great game series.

UMvC3 - Added
Marvel’s Avengers - DLC
Little Big Planet - DLC
Lego Marvel Superheroes - DLC
MUA - PSP exclusive, then added to Gold Edition

The evidence is there in the past, who knows if he’ll be included in Marvel Cosmic Invasion as the “true” 4th Avengers rep. With a new “archer” gameplay style, he’ll play unlike any other character in the game and would be a welcome addition to the roster! I’m confident Tribute Games would make him incredibly fun to play as and give him that awesome Cosmic Invasion art style, like they’ve done with all of their other characters!
