HTG Heat Wave

The weather we are having now is what made me leave HTG as an expeditor. I’ll never forget it. They always scheduled me some crappy shift like 10-6.
The closer was either the supervisor or the supervisor in training. They decided that day was a good day for the two of them to sit upstairs and “work on the schedule”.
One covered my lunch. 11:30-12:00. After that I was on my own. Bringing loads out to people’s cars, running dry and wet bins, and cars lined up.
I was 45 yrs old. Have a lot of work experience with many people. Always a calm head.
When the two, 20 something year olds came back, I had a fit. I went off. Drenched in sweat, had no water, no break. Told them basically off.
That was the end of HTG for me.
Don’t forget to stick up for yourselves!

I have read the book, multiple times. Taught the book, multiple times. This new series is definitely an interesting adaptation, but it’s so off the book. The premise and concepts are there, story is there, but there’s so many side roads. I just don’t know how to feel about it.
It’s like watching the 300 and saying it’s historically accurate. Fun fact, a history professor actually showed 300 as the story of Thermopylae. Hated that too.

Example, the show says Piggy’s name is actually, Nicky. In the novel, his real name was never mentioned and he was also killed instantly when the rock fell on him.
