I'm starting class at UIC and the closest line is the Rocky Island line in Blue Island. A few years ago my wife's car was broken into at a train station parking lot while she was in her graduate classes during the day so I have a concern about it happening to my new car since my classes are 5 pm to 8 pm.

I know realistically there's no way to predict whether or not my car will be broken into, but I just want to know if anyone has had any experiences that will help me decide whether I should just drive the hour there (traffic) or should I just take the Metra. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I’ve hosted presentation nights at my house a few times and they always end up being some of the funniest nights where people are giving presentations on hot takes, niche interests, rankings, random deep dives, and somehow turning them into debates.

I realized that this would be so much more fun if it was done on a bigger scale in Chicago?

The idea would be a casual event space where people can present something they care about (serious, funny, niche, controversial, whatever) and meet people through conversation instead of awkward small talk.

Hey all! My fiancé and I are having our honeymoon in San Francisco as it was our first trip together and we thought it would be a good place to celebrate our marriage since she needs to renew her passport.

However, last time we were out there we decided to wing it and just take the train and bus to wherever it felt like taking us and we would just wing it from there. It just so happened that literally every single day there was a parade or a thrift meet taking up a street or a block party or just SOMETHING going on. Coming from Chicago we have events but SF takes it to another level. Can we expect that anytime we go or was that a lucky week that we were there?
