Hey everyone,
If you lived and worked abroad and, hypothetically, had £250,000 GBP sitting in a bank account, no pension, and were around 40 years old, what would you personally do with it?
Would you invest the majority of it, look at property, start building a pension, keep a large amount in cash, or take a completely different approach?
I’m interested in hearing what people would genuinely do in that situation, particularly from anyone who has lived abroad for a number of years and had to think about long-term financial planning.
Assuming you didn’t need the £250k immediately and were looking at the next 20–25 years, how would you structure it to give yourself the best chance of being financially secure later in life?
Interested to hear everyone's thoughts and experiences.

I got the call for the watch I've wanted for a while, so happy
Today was a very good day! 😍⌚️
I got the call I’d been waiting for a while from my authorised Rolex dealer, asking me to come in as they had something very special for me.
When I arrived and saw what they had put aside, I honestly couldn’t believe it — the Rolex Sky-Dweller with the stunning green dial on the Jubilee bracelet. 💚 I had already been offered it in white and blue but declined.
This has been a watch I’ve wanted for some time, and seeing it in the flesh was even better than I imagined. The green dial is absolutely incredible, and paired with the Jubilee bracelet, it’s just something else.
After having a few different watches over the years, this one definitely feels like a very special addition to the collection. It’s always a great feeling when a watch you’ve been waiting and hoping for finally becomes a reality.
A massive thank you to the team at my authorised dealer for looking after me and making the whole experience so special, as always. 🥂
Safe to say, I’m absolutely over the moon with this one! ❤️
