Where my legend diver lovers at?!

I honestly can’t stop looking at this puppy. I purchased a turquoise aqua terra one year before my LLD, and now I find myself constantly gravitating to the LLD so much more. Longines Legend Diver is just pure class and the perfect everyday casual watch. Anyone else feel this kind of love?!

Real-world accuracy: Longines L888 vs Rolex and METAS Tudor movements

I wanted to share some real-world tracking data from my collection that completely flies in the face of "on-paper" watch specs.

We often talk about in-house movements, COSC, METAS, and elite certifications as the holy grail of precision. On paper, my Longines HydroConquest (Caliber L888) is easily the most "inferior" movement in my current rotation. It is built on an upgraded ETA architecture, beats at a lower 25,200 vph (3.5Hz) compared to the smooth 4Hz of the others, and doesn't carry elite Master Chronometer badges.

Yet, in the real world, it is absolutely destroying my heavy hitters.

I’ve been tracking my daily wear and box-rotation using Wristlog. Because I pull them out and manually wind them every single day to keep them at full power, they spend a good amount of time resting flat (Dial Up) in the box.

Here is how the real-world data stacks up against their official factory guarantees:

  1. Longines HydroConquest: +0.6 spd (Factory spec: Standard high-grade regulation, typically -5 to +15 spd)
  2. Tudor Black Bay 58: +1.3 spd (Factory spec: COSC/METAS 0 to +5 spd)
  3. Rolex Datejust 36: +1.6 spd (Factory spec: Superlative Chronometer -2 to +2 spd)
  4. Tudor Black Bay 58 GMT: +2.7 spd (Factory spec: METAS 0 to +5 spd)

Every single one of these watches is performing beautifully and well within their respective luxury parameters. Rolex's consistency is amazing, and both Tudors lean perfectly into that safe "never run slow" METAS zone.

But my entry-level luxury Longines—with its humble silicon hairspring and modified ETA roots—is running at a near-perfect +0.6 seconds per day.

It goes to show that you shouldn't judge a watch entirely by its spec sheet. A well-regulated, stable "workhorse" can absolutely hold its own against elite in-house calibres.

Has anyone else noticed their entry-level pieces outperforming their high-end luxury watches?

Disclaimer: this post was written with the help of AI, as english is not my native language and i want to convey this information as accurately and clearly as possible. Thanks!

Thinking about picking up a Master Collection Chronograph Moonphase (Ref. L2.673.4.78.6)—would love your advice & wrist shots!

Hey everyone,
I’m currently looking at buying a pre-owned Longines Master Collection Chronograph Moonphase (ref. L2.673.4.78.6). I love the look of the silver dial and all the complications packed into it, but since it's a bit of an investment, I'd love to get some real-world feedback from anyone who owns or has owned one.
How has your experience been with reliability and overall wearability for daily use? Also, for those who have had theirs serviced, how often do you get it done and roughly what did it run you?
If you own this reference (or any variation of the Master Collection Moonphase), please drop your wrist shots or strap combo pics in the comments—I'd love to see how it looks on different wrists and setups. Thanks in advance for the help!

Vintage Longines with misspelling on the caseback

Hello, I just bought a vintage Longines on Chrono24 from a private seller. He was very communicative, nice and seemed really honest. The reference is Les Grandes Classiques Vintage - Waffle Roman Dial - Caliber L156.2. The watch is in really good condition. However, on the caseback there is a misspelling - it is written Stainless Stell instead of Stainless Steel, as you can see in the photos. I asked a friend of mine about this, as he is more of a watch expert than me, I am just passionate. He told me that after a brief Google search, other watches of this exact model on other platforms have the correct spelling, but others have the same issue with the same misspelling. Also, I have been to a watch shop and he told me that the watch seems authentic. What do you think?

Hydroconquest 39mm or 42mm

I am close to pulling the trigger on my first diver: hydroconquest sylt edition. But i cant decide if i should go with the 39mm or 42mm one. They only had the 42mm one to try sadly so i needed to try a different 39mm watch (blue one). Does the 42 suit me or should i go with the 39?

Fyi: i have a 17.5cm (6.8 inch) wrist and 57mm flat.

Normal?

Just received this Longines Flagship Heritage MoonPhase and absolutely love it. With that said, I have a question for the group. When I take the watch off my wrist and hold it in my hand, I can hear the rotor rattling inside the case. The watch is authentic, brand new, and operating perfectly, but wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this sound when rotating their watch.

Took her on an adventure - Hydroconquest

Had this watch a little over a year and still looks great! Pretty much daily worn for that year. Have a little of the PVD coming off but nothing visible unless you are close enough to where my lifeless body is laying on the ground and you have pried it from my cold, dead hands. Anyways, love two tones, if you have one drop a pic I’d love to see the rose gold/blue dial combo hydroconquest!

When in Vegas…

In Las Vegas for my 62nd birthday and no luck at the tabes but scored this luck find at the HOROLOGIO store at the Venetian. Not on display. Only one they had because another client didn’t pick it up. 39mm on 7.3” wrist. I think I could do either 42 or 39mm but this was in the moment, lol. Not bad. Taking it swimming today.

Hydroconquest Blue

Looking at the pictures online, it looks like the shade of blue is different between the new Hydroconquest and the Hydroconquest GMT. But staged photos tend to be deceiving. Is the shade of blue really that different between these 2 watches in real life?

Longines Spirit 37 Clasp Options

Is there a blank option or any aftermarket clasps for this watch? I've fallen in love with it until I saw wrist shots and that the clasp has the name brand across it. I'm interested in a luxury timepiece and the clasp reminds me of a a retail t shirt with a luxury logo across it which they failed to post any pictures of the clasp on their website.

Can anyone identify these Longines watches? Are they connected to Rolls-Royce?

Hi everyone,

I recently came across these vintage Longines watches and I’m trying to find out more about their history.

The case is quite unusual — rectangular, gold-colored, with a striped dial. On the back there are Longines markings, “ROG. SUISSE / SWISS MADE”, gold hallmarks and the number 12525.

What really caught my attention is the small emblem on the clasp/crown area, which appears to be connected to Rolls-Royce.

I assume there must be some story behind these watches, but so far I haven’t been able to find anything similar or reliable information about them.

Does anyone here recognize this model or know what the connection between Longines and Rolls-Royce might have been?

Could these have been made as a special commission, a corporate/automotive presentation watch, or perhaps given to Rolls-Royce customers or employees?

I’m especially interested in:

  • the approximate year of production;
  • the exact Longines model/reference;
  • what the 12525 marking refers to;
  • whether the Rolls-Royce emblem is original;
  • and, most importantly, the story behind these watches.

Maybe someone here has seen the same model or has access to old Longines/Rolls-Royce catalogs or archives.

Any information, even a small clue, would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

[Question] Help post-purchase (first watch!)

Hi folks, I bought my first watch today. I love beautiful things, robust engineering, and wanted something understated for everyday corporate professional wear. I went with a Longines Master Collection with moon phase, which I like because it adds info about the world around me that I don’t get on my phone.

I have a 30-day exchange program provided I don’t wear it. So, it’s in the box. I’ve never bought a nice watch before. Can you guys tell me what I should be inspecting the piece for? I’m all about details, but I don’t have the experience or eye to know where to look and what to make sure is “right”. I would appreciate any and all suggestions.

Happy to be joining this community even with my relatively meager first purchase.
