Waitlist Updates

It’s May 11th and I still have not received the call from Wake Forest. It looks like everyone is getting let off. I don’t want to say I’m losing hope but, it’s definitely hard. I really hope that I am next.

I sent in my LOCI and have built a strong like of communication with my AO. I even had my principal and superintendent write Letters of Rec for me (I work closely with them). Is Wake still admitting off their active waitlist?

Also, has anyone from New England been let off?

Has anyone out of state been offered a spot off the waitlist? If so, please provide what region (if you are comfortable doing so), major, and what date you opted in. Also, if you sent a LOCI and/or have done other things to demonstrate interest.

Hi,

UCSB is my absolute dream and I am so grateful to have been admitted. Unfortunately, I am an OOS student and will have to pay the 40k+ out of state tuition supplemental. I will be going to med school so you can just imagine how much debt I’ll be in by the age of like 25. UCSB out of state is not within my means and I know living an affordable lifestyle is part of being an adult. But, I also know I will regret not going here for the rest of my life. Someone help me.

I am 17 years old and deciding where I’m going for college. I got into UMass Amherst and it is significantly cheaper than other more “prestigious“ universities I got accepted to. I‘ve heard so many stories about people drowning in debt so scared of an immense amount to my name. I’ve already kind of (not really) can to terms with the fact that I will be in some sort of debt in pursuit of an M.D. after my name. My goal is to make it into a medical school that gives out good financial aid or even possibly free tuition to avoid this fear. I need to know if it will be harder to achieve this going to UMass Amherst, vs. the other way more expensive but prestigious unis I’ve been accepted to.
