Installing a Senville Aura using the alternate rear hole.

Any good instructions/videos on how to connect the linesets indoors when you use the alternative exit hole through the back?

I've fished my lines through from outside and am now having some decision paralysis figuring out the order of next steps - when to bend the pipe, cut and make the new flares, lift the indoor unit up, feed out the drain line, connect the refrigerant lines, etc.

Vibration pads on the Senville wallmount bracket

I bought the Senville wallmount bracket from their website with the idea that it would be designed to fit the Senville outdoor unit of the same BTU rating. Also bought their larger antivibration pads.

And... wow the hardware is horrible.

The bigger vibration pads don't fit or line up with the holes.

If i use the vibration pads and hardware included with the bracket, the included bolt head/washers are too small for the holes in the mounting bracket on the mini split, so I bought other bolts and juryrigged something (washers are STILL too small) and the included vibration pads just slide out under pressure, plus really aren't providing much contact area. It's basically impossible for the back bolt to do more than resist sideways and forwards motion, it's not holding it down at all..

Any suggestions? Am i doing something wrong?

I'm mounting it on concrete and REALLY want to minimize vibration transfer. Any better feet i should buy, or ...?

Any Canadian suppliers for basement bulkhead doors?

I'm probably peeling off this old rotting bulkhead door in the next few weeks for access to the wall above it. Rather than put it back on, I could replace with something functional... but I can't seem to find any where to buy replacement doors in Ontario.

Any recommendations?

Fragrance free conditioner WITH silicone?

I have very fine somewhat curly hair that's damaged by medication i take and autoimmune disease, to the point where i can't grow it even to shoulder length.

I use fragrance free products, (Carina Organics/Unscented company) and they all seem to be, well, too organic to include silicones.

Looking for a fragrance free conditioner? Serum? Spray? That HAS lightweight silicone, in an attempt to reduce breakage that's available in Canada.

Any suggestions?

Am i overreacting to be concerned?

I'm camping tomorrow in the backcountry, and suddenly been told there's a person with a peanut allergy who will be sharing a canoe with me, and camping on my site, using some of my camping gear. I've never met her.

I have packed peanut butter, granola bars with peanuts, and peanut butter cookies, and a can of peanuts... We'll be sharing some cooking equipment, and probably be washing dishes together, and have communal garbage. In my experience, washing dishes in the backcountry isnt a high standard of cleanliness. We'll be, short of a helicopter, probably 3 hrs from a hospital.

I've been told that she can "touch not taste" peanuts, and doesnt own an epipen, though used to have one, just uses benadryl, and is totally fine with people bringing peanuts on the trip.

Am i overreacting to think this is really dangeorus?

Are epipens really not required for "milder" peanut allergies? I admit my only experiences have been with severe allergies.

edit : Okay, so yes, I am not crazy.

Back of napkin plan now:I'm making sure i have both citerizine and loratadine available, even if this lady just uses benadryl, and have tasked an unreliable friend with grabbing me gluten free / nut free bars of some sort. If friend comes through, i'll swap bars. I'm swapping peanut butter sandwiches for cold cans of beans, a jar of cashews for the peanuts, and bringng a second camp stove + extra pot so new person can have their own... will see if i have time to bake different cookies or if I can just eat more bars if my friend remembers to buy them???

Organizer says 'well, she signed a waiver". Fine, but a waiver doesn't stop me from being traumatized if she has a bad reaction and needs emergency care!

Anyone ever replace wood gunwales with aluminum?

I have an old Kevlar canoe that needs signficant repair. The gunwales are rotted and I'd like to replace them.

Apparently, none of the sawmills near me have clear ash in 17 ft lengths thanks to the Emerald ash borer. Shipping gunwhales is prohibitively expensive.

One local canoe retailer COULD get me aluminum gunwales. I like the idea of aluminum, since I store the canoe outside.

Anyone ever done it? Any tips?

What is killing my Priscilla apple?

I don't think it's water stress, as it's the only one of my 6 apples and 2 pears that looks like this. Is it black rot? Right now, unless someone convinces me otherwise, the poor tree is heading for a campfire.

Any idea what's killing my common milkweed?

This is the 3rd year for this volunteer milkweed, and it has finally started to spread. But the original clump is dying, and now so are the offshoots. Another volunteer patch on the other side of the yard is fine.

i don't see any obvious bugs or bug-munch wounds on it, like I was hoping was rhe problem!

Torque wrench for Senville Aura - metric or SAE?

I'm driving myself mad trying to figure out what torque wrench to buy for installinf a 18000 btu Aura and 9000 btu Elite mini split (install manual is generic and remarkably useless).

Finally settled on a cheap 10-100 nM Princess Auto torque wrench with crowsfoot adapters - but which ones?! Metric or SAE?

Help me buy a Nail gun for trim on 1950s plaster over rock lath

I have been considering buying a nail gun.

Upcoming projects include:

- Building a small cabinet

- Ceiling trim in bathroom

- Installing beadboard in entry

-Quarter round in kitchen.

I don't own an air compressor and really won't want one.

Unfortunately, I have plaster over rock lath, and the previous owners attempt at a nail gun for trim left every single nail proud of the surface.

What should I look for?

Should I keep this tree, that's dead down to it's (Bailey) rootstock

I bought a Hardired nectarine last spring. We had a tough summer of no rain, and I struggled to keep stuff watered. Then a nasty winter that got closer than our zone rating (-29C) with no snow cover.

The nectarine died down past the graft, but I see a bit of budding from the rootstock. Should I keep it, cut off the dead top, and try to graft next spring? Or dig it up and replant next spring? Is Bailey remotely tasty as a fruit?

Currently 38GG, which no longer fits, calculator suggests 40F/FF. Very Skeptical.

I've been having issues with my current bras (Elomi Morgan), 38GG - stabbing my armpits when I wear them too long, and also snapping the underwire. Figured I needed a new size, suspected up a cup size or two. Chest is very projected.

Measurements:

41

39

37.5

47

50

47

The calculator tells me 40F/FF, sizing up to a 42E/F for comfort?! I usually wear my current 38 band bras on the middle hook, and those are smaller cup sizes... but it also has a warning that it might not be accurate..

Help!

My Dearest Rudbeckia hirta,

I am so pleased to see that you and your brethren have sprouted with such abundance in your winter sown pots. I am working tirelessly to prepare fresh, fertile ground for you to lay your roots, though the path is long and ardorous, and the daily battles are taxing.

I have seized today the heads of my conquered daffodil foes and mounted them to display my prowess, so all who see them might tremble. They form a gruesome, if cheerful, centrepiece in my kitchen while their bulbs lie scattered and withering.

I have pulled and pulled, but my foes have erupted from the ground by the thousands, waving cheerful yellow flags, as if to mock my efforts. I watched today as a forlorn bumblebee flitted from flower to flower, and left repulsed and disheartened by the lack of sustenance in these barren fields of daffodils.

I have been destroying the young of the rapidly approaching Hemerocallis hordes en masse, and still, they reappear, weakened, but undefeated.

I am pleased to announce more success in my merciless purge of Campanula rapunculoides, who is a sly and cunning foe, hiding beneath the canopy of my allies, crouching under the mulch, racing to emerge and reconquer the land . Their sprouts grow fewer and less vigorous with each passing day, though reinforcements arrive from the surrounding grasslands at a rapid rate; I have a plan to cut off their lines of communication.

I dream of the vast fields of geum and rudbeckia which will one day replace these foreign scoundrels in this land, when you can join me in this garden ! Soon, once I have eradicated the pernicious campanula scourge, l shall marshall my Viola sororias, who are lying in wait, and press onwards, to the next stage of my campaign for dominance of this region!

With love,

Your most ardent would-be native gardener
