Swiss Schengen visa: can I change my itinerary after getting the visa?

Hi everyone,

I’m an Indian passport holder and recently got a Swiss Schengen visa for my upcoming Europe trip.

When I applied for the visa, my itinerary was:

- 10-13 October: Switzerland

- 13-15 October: Vienna, Austria

- 15-17 October: Budapest, Hungary

- 17-19 October: Prague, Czech Republic

- 19 October: Fly back to India

However, I’m now considering changing the itinerary slightly.

My revised plan would be:

- 10 October: Arrive in Geneva

- 10-12 October: Switzerland

- Night of 12 October: Take an overnight train from Switzerland to Prague

- 13-15 October: Prague

- 15-17 October: Budapest

- 17-19 October: Vienna

- 19 October: Fly back to India

So essentially, I’d be spending one fewer night in Switzerland than I stated in my visa application, while keeping the rest of the itinerary more or less the same.

My concern is that since the visa was issued by Switzerland, could spending only 3 nights in Switzerland and more time in Austria/Hungary/Czech Republic cause any issue at immigration or be considered a violation of the visa conditions?

I will still enter through Geneva and genuinely spend 10-12th nights in Switzerland before travelling onward. The only change is that I'm taking the overnight train on the 12th late evening instead of wasting my full day on the 13th while travelling.

Has anyone been in a similar situation or changed their itinerary after receiving a Swiss Schengen visa? Would appreciate experiences or advice, particularly from people who have actually travelled on a Swiss-issued Schengen visa.

Planning to book a nightjet ticket from Zurich to Vienna. Can someone please clarify a few doubts?

So what will be the seats? Also what's the difference between the 2 seats option? Also this is the final price or do I have to pay additional for a seat reservation or anything like that?

I know my questions are very basic but would be really grateful if you could guide me through this.
