My son has feces breath & pain when eating

my son is 8 years old and everytime he eats he smacks his head as if it hurts to eat like something in his belly hurts. Also no matter how much I brush his teeth he has like poop breath. what can it be? Gut infection? Ulcers? Parasites? im taking him to the dr on Friday to see if he can get his stool tested. I feel horrible because he’s nonverbal and just cries random and self harms 😞

How to redirect a child who self harms?

My son started to self harm around April and he got super sick around May up until now with Gi issues and he self regulates by smacking his head and when he feels pain he’ll cry and smack his head hard. so far I’ve been blocking his hits to his head with a folded blanket, telling him safe hands and I also got him a sports helmet from amazon but he’s learned to take it off. we are close to starting aba therapy to learn self regulation and better communication but for now what tips do you guys have? it’s overwhelming hearing him smack his head and cry.

How to keep stools soft after constipation!

my son was chronically constipated for about 2 weeks and last week we did a bowel cleanse with MiraLAX. he’s still uncomfortable which I’m assuming is because his colon stretched so I want to know how to keep his stools soft as his colon heals. he doesn’t want to do any activities and just wants to stay in bed🙁 I miss my hyper little sensory seeking boy! his dr said prune juice and that’s it. also we are waiting for his insurance to approve him to see a GI dr.

Dealing with self harm during pain/illness

what strategies can I use to get my son to stop self harming or at least to reduce it at some level? he’s 8 and he’s recovering from chronic constipation and he slaps his head hard either for attention or because he gets random pains. I’ve been doing safe hands and also blocking his hits with a blanket or when he’s tapping his head I’ll ignore it and once he stops I praise him and pay attention to him… anyone help with advice! we are in the process of starting Aba in a few weeks but for now I need some advice. again he’s going through belly discomfort.

Severe withdrawal symptoms in my son

my son started qelbree may 18 and we ended it May 25 due to him self harming increase, no appetite and insomnia and after about four days of ending the meds till today his behaviors have been worse. Still not wanting to eat, no energy and wanting to self harm. He is autistic and nonverbal so id assume he is going through bad migraines. I’m worried because he’s only had two meals and only has to drink here and there. We went already to hospital and his doctor. which the hospital just tried to give him another medicine to calm down. I need to know if all this is normal and part of severe withdrawal and when will he likely feel back to normal? This is so hard!
