Newborns and bed jets? Should I still get one?

We just had a newborn and as such our house is warmer than usual and will be for the foreseeable future to accommodate her comfort. Before we had our child we were already considering a bed jet because both my husband and I like sleeping in the ice cold. If it could be 50 in our house all year we would thrive. We were hesitant to pull the trigger on the purchase but now we have the perfect excuse.

My husband is concerned about how the air gets dispelled from the cloud sheet. Is the fan just going to disperse ice cold air onto her anyways? If that’s the case I don’t think we can move forward right now and might be looking at an electric cooling mattress topper instead.

Visitors within the first week?

My husband's aunt, who we love BTW, just assumes that she's going to see the baby as soon as we get home. They live 3 hours away, and I literally told her I don't think we are going to be ready for anyone but our parents until a week or two+ after the baby is born. I get the excitement, but damn can I be with my baby for a bit before she starts getting passed around? People are so WEIRD man.

35 weeks and my baby girl is 7lbs. Is my doctor insane?

I was diagnosed at 28 weeks. I was diet controlled and for the last 3 weeks have been on the slow release for my morning fasting numbers. When I went to my first check in after being diagnosed my doctor (baby diabetes doc not OB) said we will talk about due dates at your next appointment and scan. Yay! I’ve had the worst pregnancy and I’m sooooo ready.

Fast forward two weeks to the next appointment and my girl is 7lbs and miss doctor says oh we will keep an eye out but most likely you’ll go to term or maybe we will induce at 39 weeks.

GIRL - I am LARGE and in charge. So uncomfy and my baby is SO BIG and has been my entire pregnancy 93+ percentile 😭😭 like be so for real are you TRYING TO HAVE ME RIP
HOLE TO HOLE

Anyways, here’s to hoping she comes early and on her own because if I go to term I’m birthing at 10+ lb baby. Pray for me and my lady parts.
