Combo feeding

Need advice regarding combo feeding

Looking for advice from parents who combo feed! 🤍

I currently breastfeed/pump and want to start introducing formula while still keeping breast milk as part of my baby’s diet. I’m trying to find the best balance that works for both baby and my mental health.

What was the easiest way for you to transition into combo feeding? Did you slowly replace feeds, mix bottles, or follow a schedule? Any tips for avoiding tummy issues or keeping up milk supply while cutting back a little? How do you mix the bottles etc ?

Would love to hear what worked best for you and your babies! 🍼

Need pumping /combo feed advice

Anyone else make enough milk but absolutely hate pumping? 😅

I feel like all I do is finally get the baby settled, hook up to pump, and then 30-40 minutes later the baby is awake again. I genuinely don’t know how people multitask taking care of a baby while pumping because the second I sit down to pump, the baby needs something.

I’m grateful I’m able to produce enough, but mentally the constant pumping schedule — especially overnight every 2-3 hours — is exhausting. By the time I feed, change, settle baby, pump, clean parts, and try to sleep… it’s basically time to start all over again.

I have slacked on pumping every 2-3 hours because honestly it’s been a lot mentally and physically. I’m barely making enough now, but I am still making enough to feed her every day.

I don’t really want to switch completely to formula because I know breast milk has benefits and I’ve worked hard to keep my supply up. But I’ve honestly considered combo feeding just to help my mental health a little. Unfortunately I’ve already gotten criticized by family just for even mentioning considering formula, which honestly makes this feel even harder.

Trying to figure out a schedule that still protects my supply without feeling completely drained. Would love advice from moms who hated pumping too or found a balance that worked for them 🤍
