Did anyone else see a super close shooting star headed I believe east across the sky at approx 11:52 pm. I’ve never seen anything that close before and I’m wondering what it could have been. Using the term “unidentified flying object” because that’s what it is!

This is my first time painting an exterior and looking for some advice on what to do about the cracking paint.
This is an early 1900s house in the Northeast with original wood siding. The paint was heavily cracked/alligatored and peeling when I started. I’ve already spent 2 days scraping underneath plastic then vacuuming it up.
The pictures show some of my progress, I’m not sure of the best way to do the curved do the corner trim as well because it’s flaking but curved so I end up making a ton of dust.
My brother wants to go straight over it with Sherwin Williams WoodScapes Rain Refresh solid stain. I’m thinking I should use something like Mad Dog or Peel Bond first because a lot of the old paint is still checked/cracked, especially on the undersides of the clapboards. Do you think a bond is needed?
