Update: Bondu is improving but urgently needs PU & cystotomy surgery.

The good news is that he’s improved enough for the vets to stop his IV fluids. He’s much more active now, is eating on his own again, and his ascites has reduced significantly. He’s currently on Day 9 of his FIP treatment, and we’re hopeful that he’s responding well.
The biggest concern now is his complete urinary blockage. Since the urinary catheter repeatedly became blocked, the vets have been draining his bladder twice a day using ultrasound-guided cystocentesis.
The vets have now decided that he urgently needs PU (Perineal Urethrostomy) and cystotomy surgery, which is expected to take place tonight or tomorrow, depending on his condition.
I truly appreciate everyone who has shared advice, kind words, and the few people who were able to donate. So far, I’ve received about ₹1,600, but I urgently need ₹30,000 to cover the surgery. The estimated total cost of Bondu’s treatment is around ₹90,000, including his FIP treatment, surgery, hospitalization, blood tests, medications, and supportive care. I have paid ₹30,000 to the hospital so far.
I haven’t received the surgery bill yet because the procedure hasn’t been performed. The ₹30,000 amount is the estimate provided by Bondu’s veterinarians for the PU and cystotomy surgery. I’ll share the final bill and all receipts once they’re available.
If anyone is able to help, even the smallest contribution would mean the world to us. If you can’t donate, I’d be incredibly grateful if you could upvote or share this post so it reaches more people.
Thank you for giving Bondu a chance. I’ll continue posting updates as he recovers. ❤️

Help Me Save Bondu: FIP Treatment, Urinary Blockage & Upcoming Surgery

My 1-year-7-month-old neutered Persian cat, Bondu, has been diagnosed with FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis). Along with FIP, he’s also suffering from a complete urinary blockage, making his condition extremely critical.
He developed:
Persistent high fever (around 104°F)
Ascites (fluid in his abdomen)
Loss of appetite
Severe lethargy
Complete urinary obstruction

The one piece of good news is that his ascites has reduced significantly since starting treatment, which gives us hope that he’s responding.

He’s currently on Day 7 of Basmi treatment, but because his urinary catheter repeatedly became blocked, the vets are now draining his bladder twice a day using ultrasound-guided cystocentesis.
He urgently needs PU (Perineal Urethrostomy) surgery to treat the blockage, but he’s currently too unstable because of FIP. The vets want to stabilize him first and continue his FIP treatment before they can safely perform the surgery.

I’m a college student, and I’m doing everything I can to save him. I usually wouldn’t ask for help, but I simply can’t afford the treatment on my own. My father recently fractured his knee, and our family is already dealing with those medical expenses, so I can’t ask my parents to take on this additional financial burden.
I even requested the veterinary hospital to reduce Bondu’s treatment costs, and they were kind enough to give me a discount. I’m incredibly grateful for that, but even after the discount, the remaining cost is still overwhelming. I still need to fund the rest of his 84-day FIP treatment, daily hospital visits, blood tests, supportive care, and eventually the PU surgery once he’s stable enough.
On top of that, because of his kidney and urinary condition, his veterinarian has prescribed a renal diet, but I’m struggling to afford that as well. If anyone has unopened renal cat food they no longer need or is willing to help with the cost of his food, I would be incredibly grateful.
I don’t want to give up on him while there’s still a chance for him to recover.

If anyone is able to help, even the smallest contribution would make a huge difference. I’m happy to provide his veterinary reports and regular updates to anyone who would like verification.
If you aren’t able to donate, I’d be incredibly grateful if you could upvote or share this post so it reaches more people. I’d also really appreciate any advice from anyone who has gone through FIP treatment or dealt with a severe urinary blockage in their cat.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for any support, advice, or kind words. ❤️
