DNA results + picture

Born and raised in Hawai’i. I’m a 1/4 each of Norwegian, English, Azorean Portuguese and Puerto Rican. My mom is Norwegian/English and my dad is Azorean/Puerto Rican. My mom is originally from Aurora, Chicago IL but moved to Hawai’i at 5 with her parents and older sister. Her parents and sister all live together in Arizona now.

My maternal grandfather is of colonial English descent but it’s hard to trace his paternal line since he never knew his father. I don’t know much about his maternal line either.

My maternal grandmother is of Norwegian descent from Wisconsin. My grandmother’s parents both come from first generation Norwegian-American fathers (both born in Wisconsin) and Norwegian born mothers who also settled in Wisconsin.

My dad is originally from Hawai’i with his Azorean maternal grandmother’s parents moving to Hawai’i around 1883-1885. One of their daughters married my dad’s maternal grandfather, who is originally from the Azores (and the same town as his wife’s mom) and together they had 19 children with 16 living into adulthood.

My Puerto Rican paternal grandfather was born in Hawai’i to parents from Puerto Rico. Unfortunately, he wasn’t around much to raise my dad besides a few occasions so information about that side is limited.

My dad told me his father would take him to his grandma’s house sometimes and she would only speak to him in Spanish in hopes of him learning to speak it. She unfortunately died when he was young, around 1965. My dad’s paternal grandfather died the year he was born, 1954, so my dad never knew him.

My mom already did the test but now I’m waiting for my dad’s Ancestry results to come in and hopefully that might help obtaining more information.
