RST Tractech Evo III Short or Alpinestars SMX-1 R V2?

What should I buy? Commuting under 25 minutes, regional QLD (Sunshine Coast), minimal traffic on a Triumph TT600 with riding jeans. Weekend rides out into the hinterland but my track days are long gone so I am not pushing the limits of anything, just enjoying the twisties. Work is casual dress but will likely just have a pair of shoes at work to slip on. Don't want a full race boot but want more than a riding sneaker for protection but also something I can go to the supermarket in and walk around without discomfort. Both seem pretty much suitable, anyone use either or something else that ticks the same boxes?

Bike decisions 23 years after last bike

Help. Haven't ridden since 2003 when I sold my Triumph TT600 in England and moved back to Australia with my English wife. Planned to buy another when I arrived then marriage kids jobs moving etc happened and only now the kids are grown up I am looking again. Now 54, still pretty fit and strong.

I've been looking for TT600s as a nostalgia purchase. I loved that bike, I toured all over Europe on mine, tent on the back camping in fields, it was super comfortable over very long days, and so much fun when you rang that inline4 right out. I miss that excitement when you get the revs into the zone and it just blasted off. Problem is they are too expensive still. A 23 year old bike that wasn't super well received (in its first gen anyway), will never be a classic, people still want $4k for. I'm thinking $2.5k tops.

And then I compare to new, could drop $13k on a brand new Ninja with a incredibly affordable loan and get a sporty bike that will tour but is a bit soft round the edges which will help offset my 23 year older body. Obviously engine profile is a bit different but then so is mine. $4k for a 23 yr old niche bike or $13k for a reliable brand new bike - its hard not to spend more.

Thoughts? I only want a faired bike, sports profile but lets you sit in saddle for hours without having to be peeled out. Anything else to consider?

Qrevo Edge C fix for error 52 error 53 drain port jammed

hi all,

I couldn't find this fix on the forums but I was inspired by the fix for the opposite problem where the water isn't sucked from the clean water tank into the robot.

My dock wouldn't suck the dirty water from the tray into the tank. The pump fires twice trying to suck it up but you hear it struggling and nothing happens. Tray itself spotless, rubber tube sitting in tray clear, dirty water tank solid suction seal everywhere.

fix: use a syringe (I used a liquid panadol syringe in the cupboard that amazingly was exactly the right size to form a seal) to push hot water down the dirty water outlet in the top of the dock (that the dirty water tank connects to) half a dozen times, this water pushed down into the tray along with a fair bit of gluggy mucky dirt. Emptied tray and did it again to confirm water ran through clear, then did a mop clean cycle, and water is now being sucked out from the tray.

Hope this helps someone else. I had done everything else I could find online up to this point and then contacted Roborock support and said what i had done, they said it sounded broken and to send it back for repair. Glad i am stubborn and tried one last thing.
