parents with young children who commute

I currently have a 3 year old and have an option to get a job that is a 15 mins drive which is $8k less than my current job. i live in Ajax and my current job is in toronto downtown. Should i take the paycut and accept the job paying $8k less? I plan on having more children but wasnt sure what the commuting life is like with young children. I have been wfh so far but will be required to be in 5 days a week come September. The new job also requires 5 days in office but its 15 mins away.
What would you suggest?

Going on mat leave while on secondment

I am currently on a secondment and have a home position in the OPS. What happens to this secondment when i go on mat leave? I am not sure if i want to change my home position to this right now as the current manager isn’t the most competent.
Also, who will have to approve my excess vacation if i want to carry them forward so I can take them upon my return..

What is Rivva doing in the show?

Except for coming and giving lectures, she has no contribution in the show!!! Even in the task today, she did nothing!!! Like girl if u have so many problems with others performing, why dont u get off your ass and actually do something?
They need to kick her out!!! She has no contribution in the show

Zaid looks like an idiot

I am sorry but Zaid is looking an idiot defending Kushal and supporting him. His wife needs to come on the show and tell him to grow some and take a stand!

Looking for advice:

My home position is in toronto as a level 7 but i am currently acting as a level 6 and i have an opportunity to become permanent here as i competed for this level 6 contract and i should roll over by this summer. I just needed advice if its worth leaving that perm level 7 for this job.

The commute right now to the regional sauga office is 15 mins drive whereas toronto was a 1.5 hour commute.

I do miss the work i did at my level 7 job as i really enjoyed it. The current level 6 is okay..i dont enjoy it.

I do have 2 young children so not having to commute to downtown 5 days a week has been blessing.

I know level 7s are rare across the OPS so its been a difficult decision giving that up

I was looking for advice from people in similar situations?
