Ben Stoeger posted this recently on his Instagram story even referring to him as a "fuckstick". I took a Tim class a couple years back, thought it decent class just like all the other classes I took. Was looking to take one of Ben's classes too. But never knew Ben felt vitriolic towards Tim Herron. Anyone know what it stems from? I'm completely out the loop.

FOR READERS: A quick breakdown of the incident and how it unfolded as reported by NBC 10 Boston:
>"Fifty to 60 rounds fired, two people critically injured. And a state trooper and a Good Samaritan who may have saved countless lives. Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan gave a detailed outline of how the shooting on Memorial Drive in Cambridge unfolded at a press conference Monday afternoon.
>She said the incident began around 1:06 p.m., when Cambridge police received a 911 call from Boston police reporting that there was an individual who later was placed under arrest in the Cambridge incident who they believed was in Cambridge. He had been observed acting erratically and they believed the individual was in possession of a rifle.
>Massachusetts State Police began responding to the area along with Cambridge police, Ryan said. By the time they arrived, she said there was already an active shooter situation.
>The individual, identified by authorities as Tyler Brown, of Boston, was already traveling down the middle of Memorial Drive on foot, she said, with cars stopped in traffic. He was in possession of an assault-style rifle and was actively firing "in an erratic fashon" at vehicles along the road, she said.
>A very high number of rounds, between 50-60, were fired in a very short period of time, striking two males in separate vehicles, Ryan said. They were both rushed to Boston hospitals with life-threatening injuries.
>As state police were arriving, a trooper in his cruiser and a civilian, a former Marine licensed to carry a gun, arrived at the scene to find people jumping from cars, scattering in different directions as gunshots rang out. Some people were later found hiding under their cars in search of a safe place.
>The cruiser from which the first-arriving trooper stepped was struck by a bullet, Ryan said. The trooper and the civilian ran toward the suspect with their weapons to try and end the situation. Both fired their weapons and struck Brown multiple times in his extremities. Brown was treated on scene and taken to a Boston hospital, where he is being treated for his injuries.
>Ryan stressed the trauma experienced by everyone who was out there, and noted that Brown's gun had the capacity to have struck people on the other side of the Charles River.
>"This incident occurred in a busy part of the afternoon with lots of people there," she said. "Clearly, people's lives were put at risk."
>"What happened today cannot stand."
>Ryan said it is still very early in the investigation, and there is an extensive crime scene. She said Brown will be charged with two counts of armed assault with intent to murder and other charges. It isn't known when he will be arraigned."
Lessons: BE TRAINED. BE PREPARED. I know in this sub people fantasize about the idea of being the hero in a situation like this. But that comes with the cost of potentially loosing your life which if you want to proceed forward with *action* you have to accept. In this case, a random nutjob was going on a shooting spree and shot to innocent commuters who are still facing life threatening injuries.
You have to decide if you want to make the decision to attempt to put an end to evil. That is a personal choice. And this private citizen decided it indeed was worth it. I am sure his Marine training kicked in.
Once that decision is made, you need to be trained and prepared. That Private Citizen ended up tag teaming with a trained Massachusetts State Trooper and both push towards the threat. Do you trust your skills enough to be able to work in tandem with Law Enforcement in a hasty in a rapidly unfolding choatic event? Would they trust you on a whim and have faith that you know what you are doing? Obviously this guy was a former Marine, so im sure he quickly established who he was able to rapidly earn the State Troopers trust. But it is just something to think about.
Working in tandem, they both neutralized the threat. Both the private citizen and State Trooper fired shots striking the suspect. So they got their hits.
Be trained, take classes, shoot matches because you never know what position you could be put in, just like this private citizen was today. You could be working in tandem with a State Trooper to take out a rifle-armed active shooter.
