unreal 4 and a in game cam system

Hey,

Working on a game in Unreal 4 and the LIV cam just won’t work in it yet. I’ve seen others have player cams with Unreal but I’m not sure how you pull it off. Any suggestions? (Specifically unreal 4)

We originally wanted to release an earlier playtest for Daumier: Lila & Ghost, but during early testing, we found a few bugs that made us stop and have a much longer conversation as a team.

At first, our goal was to get the game into players’ hands as soon as possible and start collecting feedback. But after testing more, we realized that releasing early just to say we released early did not make sense if players were not going to experience the game the way we intended.

Daumier: Lila & Ghost is a co-op story driven puzzle game built around communication, atmosphere, mystery, and discovery. If bugs get in the way of that, they do not just create a small inconvenience. They can break the tension, ruin the pacing, and take players out of the world we spent so much time building. Especially in VR.

So we made the hard call to delay the alpha, take the game apart, and fix what needed to be fixed.

We have put so much time and effort into creating this game, and honestly, we would be heartbroken if bugs were the reason people could not enjoy it as much as we do.

We still want players involved early. We still want feedback. We still want people solving the mystery together. We just want the first public version to give the game the best possible chance to connect with people.

I can't help but wonder if we made the right call or not. What would you have done in this situation?
