What has gotten so expensive in Singapore that you have stopped buying it?

I shall go first. I dont enjoy Burger King anymore, It has gotten so ridiculously expensive. Macdonalds is another culprit. Everything is close to $10 bucks and can go up to $15 to $20 for meals.

Water Dispensers or Water Purifiers, what is a good choice?

Sorry for the repost! First, I had to change my title, and then I realized I posted a little too quickly after that (anti-flood). So, here's attempt number three. 😅

---------------------------

Hello guys,

After my last post about storage heaters vs. instant heaters, I'm back with another dilemma.

I just watched Do Water Filters Really Purify Your Water? | Talking Point | Full Episode, and now I'm wondering if I'm overthinking this.

I honestly don't see myself spending thousands on a water purifier... but am I missing something?

All I really want is instant hot and cold water for the family. Why are there so few brands that offer this without a built-in filter?

For those of you using a water purifier or water dispenser:

  • What brand and model are you using?
  • How long have you had it?
  • Would you recommend it?
  • If you bought it again today, would you choose the same one?

Just looking for something reliable that doesn't cost a bomb. Appreciate any recommendations or experiences!

Jurong Area smells like trash

So for the past few days, the Jurong west, st 71, 81, and towards the innovation district area smells extremely bad. It seems to be present mainly in the night time. It smells like trash or fecal matter in certain areas. Where is this smell coming from?!?!?

Storage Heater or Instant Heater?

Currently deciding between a storage heater and instant heater for my BTO, and would love to hear from people using instant heaters long term.

My main concerns are:

  • Cost of keeping a storage heater running 24/7
  • Storage heater being hidden in the common bathroom ceiling (maintenance/leak worries)
  • Water pressure on instant heaters (No rain shower)
  • Whether instant heaters get hot enough consistently

I’m leaning towards instant heaters because they seem simpler and cheaper, but I’m worried about regret later on.

Would appreciate hearing real experiences from homeowners:

  • Any noticeable electricity bill differences?
  • Any pressure or temperature issues?
  • Any maintenance problems?
  • Would you choose the same setup again?

Brands I am looking at are Ariston Storage Heaters vs Toshiba Instant heaters
