Are there any open groups to interact with writers? Maybe in discord or something! I'm looking for people to talk about writing and to see different works!

I'm just starting to toy with the idea of a fictional world. I have a couple pinterest boards in order to define an aesthetic and also help myself by being able to visualise what's in my head, but I'm not sure what the next step should be. I could brainstorm some stuff that I know I want to do, but I don't know what I should focus on first! I already thought of some creatures to inhabit the world, their different cultures and way of living and kind of how the many societies work together. Any tips?

I'm on the process of early development in relation to a fantasy story I've had in mind for a while. I've got a general concept of what the world would entail and what creatures inhabit it , but I'm having trouble making them unique. I chose being such as fairies, witches, vampires, all the classic fantasy characters, but I really want to make them different to what they're usually portrayed as, or maybe just add my own special touch.

Of course I'm not asking how to write them or anything, but I need some assistance when it comes to what questions I could ask myself to develop my characters uniquely. Thanks!
