Remember when Admiral fans spent years abusing the word "Narrative" to scale Akainu to top tier? Whenever you questioned Akainu's actual feats or pointed out that he has been stuck doing paperwork for a decade, they just scream "NARRATIVE!" to shut down the debate. Their entire defense relies on one desperate line: "Unless you think Blackbeard and Shanks are frauds, Akainu is top 1." It is hilarious because they constantly insert Akainu’s name between Shanks and Blackbeard like he belongs on the relatively scale. The hypocrisy is insane as Admiraltards spend 90% of their time slandering Shanks, calling him a fraud, or calling him a rat unless they need to scale Akainu or argue against Yonkos.

Suddenly, Shanks becomes the gold standard of strength just so they can claim Akainu is equal to him by "narrative." Then the Final Saga actually started we saw Shanks and Blackbeard finally make their post-timeskip moves, and they immediately went out and took care of business each to their own. Naturally, Marine fans tried to drag Akainu's name into the hype, promising that when he finally got active, he was going to catch some bodies as they claimed. Then Chapter 1092
Akainu finally stepped out from his desk to fight Bartholomew Kuma who was literally a braindead cyborg, missing parts, fleeing a battlefield, and functioning on completely one HP. Akainu failed to stop him as Kuma literally ignored his magma, tanked the hits, and zipped away right in front of him.

The moment Akainu in decades had to do something he failed hard. Instead of admitting the hype train crashed, Akainu fans immediately went into hiding for a week, only to come back screaming "NARRATIVE!" all over again. The word has completely failed them since Marineford, but they still cling to it because his actual on-panel feats post-timeskip are practically non-existent. At this point, Akainu's biggest feat in the Final Saga is giving a dying Kuma an accidental health buff.
