Building a Micro-SaaS Portfolio on Shopify: Is this the right path for long-term revenue?

"Hi everyone,

I’m currently a developer focusing on the Shopify ecosystem. My goal is to build and maintain a portfolio of multiple niche micro-SaaS applications rather than betting everything on one single 'mega-app.'

I’m still in the early stages, currently finishing my first tool. I’m leaning towards a 'shovel-selling' philosophy: building small, high-value infrastructure tools that solve specific pain points for merchants.

I would love to hear from those of you who have been in the Shopify App Store game for a while:

  1. Portfolio vs. Single Product: Is it better to scale one app to the moon or manage a 'fleet' of smaller, stable apps? What are the biggest pros and cons you’ve faced with either approach?
  2. Sustainability: How do you handle support and maintenance as the number of apps increases without burning out?
  3. Alternative Perspectives: If you were starting over in 2026, would you still focus on the Shopify App Store, or would you pivot your energy toward another ecosystem (like custom integrations, AI-driven agency work, etc.)?

Any advice or 'lessons learned' regarding long-term revenue and scaling would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!"

I built an AI tool to replace the "weeks-long" UGC video production cycle for e-commerce. Feedback?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been working on a Micro SaaS that solves a major bottleneck for e-commerce brands: the high cost and long turnaround time of creating UGC video ads.

Instead of waiting weeks and spending hundreds on creators for a single ad, I built a pipeline that turns any product link into a ready-to-publish video in minutes.

The process is simple:

  1. Scraping: It pulls the product details, key pain points, and target audience data directly from the URL (Shopify/Amazon).
  2. Strategy: AI writes viral-focused hooks and scripts based on the product’s selling points.
  3. Execution: It generates the final video with a realistic talking avatar, professional voiceover, and dynamic captions.

My goal is to give e-commerce brands the ability to generate dozens of video variations for A/B testing on TikTok/Reels at a fraction of the cost.

Since this is a specialized tool for creators and store owners, I'd love to hear your thoughts:

  • The "Uncanny Valley" issue: For those using AI avatars in ads, have you noticed a drop in conversion compared to real human creators?
  • Workflow integration: What is the one thing that usually stops you from scaling your ad creative testing?

I’m currently refining the pipeline and open-sourced the backend if anyone wants to look under the hood. Would love some constructive criticism on the product-market fit or the technical approach.

Selamlar,

Koçların ve mentörlerin danışanlarıyla olan takip sürecini kolaylaştırmak için geliştirdiğim https://www.taskk.me 'yi paylaşmak istedim. Hem web hem mobil app

I built a platform to help mentors/creators monetize their audience, but I need your harsh feedback. Is the potential there?

Hey r/MicroSaaS,

I've been working on a project called Taskk (taskk.me) for a while now. The core idea came from seeing how scattered the tools are for mentors, coaches, and creators who want to manage their communities, sell programs, and assign tasks.

I decided to build an all-in-one workspace where a mentor can:

  • Sell recurring memberships/programs
  • Assign forms, tasks, and track member progress
  • Use built-in AI tools (like video/image generation for their content)
  • Have a dedicated tenant/workspace

Where I need your help: I’ve just finalized the core loop (onboarding, payments via Lemon Squeezy, and the mentor dashboard), but you know how it is when you stare at your own code for too long—you become blind to the flaws.

I would really appreciate it if some of you could tear it apart.

  1. Landing Page: Is the value proposition clear within 5 seconds?
  2. Onboarding: Does the flow make sense? Is there too much friction?
  3. General Potential: Do you see a real market need for this specifically packaged this way?

Here is the link: https://taskk.me (If you want to test the paid features, let me know and I can shoot you a 100% off promo code so you don't have to pay).

I am ready for the brutal honesty. Any feedback on UI/UX, features, or positioning would mean the world to me. Thanks in advance!
