Painting Nike Sb Anti Hero
Yay or Nay? Sharing my experience painting a white shoe black!
I needed a full black pair and thought since these were going 1 for 1, I might’s well paint them since it’ll be a fun thing to do.
I used Angelus Leather paint after watching loads of videos and a friend of mine who custom sneakers gave me a hand and some tips.
For the suede part we used Angelus Suede dye and did about 2-3 coats.
We tried on a couple of Matte finisher (too dull) , the 4 coat (too glossy) and finally settled on the 600 acrylic finisher
For the midsoles I bought some midsole paint from Taobao (a china website) and they gave me
- acetone in nail polish style
- mid sole paint
- finisher <which was a no go for us because it changed the paint to be somewhat bronze and glossy like peacock’s feather if you get what I mean… so we just painted another layer of the midsole paint over it.
I dyed the grey shoelaces using GAC and the Angelus leather paint. Washed twice before the paint stopped leaking out and tbh it was pretty stiff. Maybe we should have gone with batik dye… idk.
Such a fun side quest and overall loving the shoe! 😆
