FRNSW RF Deduction

The ATO states that deductions can be claimed when travelling from home directly to an alternative workplace other than your regular work place.

Does this mean I can use the cents per km method to claim each shift where I didn't go to my base station and just went straight to where I was relieving? Any other RFs been doing this?

Strength Training Programming Recommendation

Can anyone personally recommend someone in the Penrith area who has helped them with programming for strength training?

I don't want ongoing personal training or to join a certain gym I just want to pay for their time and expertise in developing a strength training program to meet my goals.

Mechanical Disk Brake Expectations

Hey everyone,

I recently picked up a Reid Pro Hardtail and I'm not happy with the performance of the brakes but I'm not sure if my expectations are too high.

I assembled and adjusted the thing myself, I've followed along with a bunch of YouTube videos on adjusting mechanical disk brakes but I can't seem to get any more performance out of them.

The brakes lock the wheels if I'm walking alongside the bike but when I'm in the saddle they don't lock, they just slowly bring me to a stop. If I had to emergency brake there is no way I'd avoid an incident, they barely control the speed wh n going down a hill. For reference I'm 78kg so I don't think weight is an issue.

After exhausting tutorials on how to adjust the brakes I reluctantly turned to chatgpt - it's diagnosis is inadequate friction due to poor or contaminated brake pads.

I've contacted Reid (Bikes online) and am waiting to hear back from them.

My question for the group is around my expectations. Are they too high? Should the brakes be performing better than this?

I understand that this is an entry level bike in a box but I would assume the brakes should still be able to bring the bike to a stop on a decline which they aren't capable of doing.

Any thoughts, suggestions etc while I wait to hear back from Bikes Online would be appreciated

PS I've included a couple of pics of the caliper and disk set up on the rear wheel

I'm 40 years old and about a year ago I started lifting weights for the first time about a year ago. I pieced together my own bro split program and have been doing that 4 days a week. I've seen some gains but nothing to write home about. I've decided to move to a 3 day full body program and have come up with the following. If anyone has any feedback on the 3 day program I'd love to hear it.

Day 1

Barbell Squat 5 × 5

Bench Press 5 × 5

Pull Ups 4 × 6–10

Walking Lunges 3 × 10 each leg

Farmer’s Carry 4 × 30–40 metres heavy

Hanging Leg Raises 3 × 10–15

Day 2

Deadlift 5 × 3

Overhead Press 4 × 6

Barbell Row 4 × 8

Push Press 5 × 3

Romanian Deadlift 3 × 8

Face Pulls 3 × 15–20

Day 3

Thrusters 5 × 5

Front Foot Elevated Lunges 3 × 10 each leg

Pull Ups 3 × max reps

Incline Dumbbell Bench Press 3 × 10

Single Arm Dumbbell Row 3 × 10 each side

Farmer’s Carry 5 X 40m

The idler pulley on my dryer has overheated, melted and seized.

Can anyone shed some light to explain why this may have happened?

About a year ago the drum stopped spinning, I pulled it apart and found that the tension spring had come loose and the drum belt had come off the idler pulley. Maybe when I put it back together I didn't do it correctly and that has, over time, caused the idler pulley to fail?

I've pulled the dryer apart and have ordered a new one as well as a drum belt to replace that while I have the dryer pulled apart.

Are there any tips and tricks for installing the new idler pulley so that it doesn't fail again? Do I need to use any kind of lubricant on the idler pulley shaft?

Any help would be greatly appreciated..we're coming into dryer season down under
