As an inexperienced filmmaker we just finished the first day of filming our short film, and unfortunately our external microphone didn’t record for some reason. We only have the camera’s built-in audio.

My main question is: should we record the rest of the film with the external microphone if we’re able to fix it, or should we continue using only the camera audio to keep the sound consistent?

Would the difference in audio quality between scenes be more noticeable than having slightly lower-quality audio throughout the film?

We’re using a Sony A7III. Any advice is appreciated, thanks!
