What do I say in a cover letter?

I'm a recent college graduate, and I'm interested in pursuing a career in public policy, public service, law, communications, nonprofit work, or journalism. Honestly, at this point, I'll apply to other things outside that realm too, but those are my main broader interests. I am STUMPED when it comes to cover letters. I feel like what I've been trying to do just isn't working, and I don't want to an AI cover letter cause I feel like it's so obvious and kinda shitty lowkey. I need help 😭.

My experience for reference: B.S in economics, sociology; minor in creative writing; Communications Intern at the NDRC (redistricting committee); Communications Assistant at a center for ethnic studies research, Newsroom Production Assistant for a local NPR station; Staff Writer for my college's student newspaper; Communications and Marketing Intern at a nonprofit foundation.

I want to keep the letters to 3 paragraphs max preferably, with a short 4th paragraph with the usual "Thank you for considering..."

Any help or guidance would be fantastic!

Rhonda from season 19

I've never watched this show before until it came up on Peacock. I'm watching season 19 and oh my god...Rhonda is the most insufferable person. I am genuinely in awe of how she manages to find fault in every single thing that Pat does. Most of the time, he is only trying to relate to her, which is what you do in a normal conversation, but she wants the ENTIRE conversation to be all about her. If it's not, she thinks he's making it about himself. I'm so fucking pissed off even watching her on my screen. And his stupid friend basically backing her up too? I feel so bad for Pat.

I haven't finished the season yet, so maybe he ends up being a shitty guy too. But as of right now, I cannot stand her and am honestly appalled at Pat's willpower and ability to just accept the blame and put himself down to bring her up.

Read My Mind by The Killers and Chances by The Strokes

Anyone have any song recs like Read My Mind and Chances? Two of my favorite songs and looking for more like them—almost like a groovy guitar, soft rock, nostalgic vibe. Idk how else to describe it lmao
