I'm currently in Grade 11 and planning to apply to Queen's Health Sciences this December.

I know the supplementary application has both the live interview (with about 2 minutes to prepare before speaking) and the timed writing component, so I was wondering what people actually did to prepare.

For current students or people who were admitted:

• How did you prepare for the live speaking portion?
• How did you prepare for the writing portion?
• Did you practice with sample questions?
• Did you use a coach or reviewer? If not, who gave you feedback?
• Looking back, what would you have done differently?
• What do you think Queen's is actually looking for in applicants during the interview and writing?

I'd love to start preparing early if there's anything I can work on over the summer.

Hi everyone! I'm currently in Grade 11 and hoping to apply to McMaster Health Sciences this coming December. I know it's still early, but I'd rather start preparing now than panic later.

I've read that the supplementary application has changed over the years and isn't really focused on listing your ECs anymore. The questions seem pretty open-ended, which honestly makes it harder to know how to prepare.

For current BHSc students or people who were admitted, I was wondering:

• How did you prepare for the written questions?
• Did you do anything during Grade 11 or the summer that helped?
• Did you use a coach or reviewer? If not, who gave you feedback (teachers, friends, family, etc.)?
• Since the questions aren't really about your activities, how do you actually stand out?
• Is it still a good idea to bring in examples from your ECs when they fit, or is that not what they're looking for?
• What do you think admissions is actually looking for in strong responses?
