Going from zero to 20 push-ups?

Maybe this is a bit like asking how long is a piece of string, but roughly how long would it take for someone who can't do a single push-up to be able to do 20 of them in one minute? I need to be able to do 20 in one minute to pass an army fitness assessment?

I was originally scheduled for the 10th of July, but I have asked for more time because I also have an Achilles injury. So I want to make sure I'm healed from that so I can complete the 2.4km run.

I probably should have started prepping way before now, but only saw them advertising for recruits when taking my girlfriend to the hospital for her broken foot.

Shoes for someone dealing with mild Achilles pain?

I think it's time to stop wearing minimalist shoes and start wearing running shoes with more support and a higher drop. I keep having issues with my left Achilles tendon, and I need to start training for a 2.5 km run that has to be completed in under 12 minutes and 30 seconds as part of an army fitness test.

I will book an appointment with a physiotherapist next week.

I was thinking of getting the Brooks Ghost 17 or 18, but I'm open to hearing other suggestions.

Physio recommendation for running injury?

Hi everyone, I hope you are all having a great week. I would be very grateful if someone could recommend a good physiotherapist in Castlebar or elsewhere in Mayo, as I need help with a persistent running-related Achilles injury.

I'm thinking of joining the Army and I need to pass the fitness assessment.

Joining at age 36?

Would it be foolish of me to consider joining at my age? I recently turned 36. At the moment, I'm working in hospitality as it's the biggest employment sector where I live. There aren't many other opportunities, except maybe care work, but I definitely don't have the right personality for that.

I decided to consider joining after seeing a recruitment advert while accompanying my girlfriend to her appointment at Merlin Park Hospital.

The pay doesn't seem that bad, especially compared to the two industries I mentioned above. Thankfully, neither my girlfriend nor I want kids, but I'm wondering how the job would fit in with maintaining a relationship after training. Would you get any weekends off, or any other time off for family?
