How do I know when a past buyer likes something new so I can give them a special discount?

In the seller tools there’s an option to see “past buyers” likes. But when I click it, it’s just a list of everybody who has ever liked anything. Not just my past buyers. How am I able to see just the recent likes of my past buyers so I can give them a special discount. I don’t know what the point of this “past buyers” thing is when it doesn’t even show you that.

Worth it to relist old listings that have 50+ likes but have not sold yet?

I have a few really good quality leather bags and shoes that all have around 50+ likes but no one has bought them. Idk why because they’re in perfect condition and obviously people like them. Is it worth it to just relist completely like make a brand new listing and lose all the old likes? Maybe that will get new eyes on the items? I really don’t know what to do here.

One of these items is a $650 brand new Italian leather bag that I have listed for $220. Which is way less than I even wanted to sell it for. But it has 44 likes! Another is a pair of Jeffrey Campbell high quality leather heels never worn still with the original box that were originally about $200 and I have them listed for $70. These shoes have almost 60 likes and have been listed for months.

I think the problem might be that I only have stock photos in the listing for this bag because it’s still in its original packaging which is a foam padding type of material. I didn’t want to open up the packaging just to show the bag and instantly devalue it. But I say multiple times that it’s brand new in perfect condition still in the original packaging and it’s never been opened. But that makes me worried that people aren’t buying it because they can’t see the actual bag. But I didn’t want to devaluate by opening the packaging. What do you all think I should do?

Edit- I’m also wondering in other sellers experience is it likely that someone that has liked one of these items for months is suddenly going to buy it now?

Tips for selling nwt sealed authentic luxury beauty

I recently got some luxury beauty for my birthday, except I don’t really wear much make up and don’t really know what to do with it. So I thought might as well sell it online so I can get myself something I actually want. Ysl lipsticks and lipglosses to be specific. I’m just not sure the protocol with selling luxury beauty because from what I’ve seen online people seem to always assume it’s fake so I’m just not really sure what to do. I also got a ysl perfume, but I know we can’t list those on Poshmark. Should I try to sell it on eBay? Any help is appreciated!

Edit- basically just wondering if there’s anything I need to know or do to protect myself in these situations. Apparently a lot of luxury beauty sold online is fake and obviously mine are not.

I have so much clothing and want to sell them as bundles instead of individually

How would I go about doing this? Should I just organize them by brand or maybe style? All of these items are in perfect condition. I don’t sell anything with stains or marks or any signs of wear. But I just honestly don’t have time to be measuring everything and taking all the photos and writing long detailed descriptions for everything individually.

These are all items from my personal closet, so I’m really just trying to make a bit of my money back. Obviously since they are bundles they would be cheaper than if I sold all the items individually, but I’m ok with that. I would rather have like 5 pieces of clothing in a bundle and that way people are getting a deal and I don’t have to do as much work. Do bundle listings actually sell though or would this just be a waste of time?

I usually sell handbags, jewelry, shoes and coats all individually. I find those are easier to sell than tops, bottoms, sweaters, dresses, etc. which are the items that would be in these bundles. Anyways, what are the best ways to sell them? By brand? By style? Would appreciate any help with this as I’ve never done it before. Thanks!

Edit- all the clothing I’m selling is in a size small so size will be automatically always a small. I know that makes it easier!

Way more declined offers than ever before

Does anyone know what’s going on? I’ve only been selling for about a year but I had never received a declined offer before until a few weeks ago, and since then I’ve probably received over ten declined offers. I used to send out an initial 10% offers to likers but recently started sending out an initial 20% offer instead. So I don’t know why I would be getting more declines when the very first offer I’m sending out is an even bigger discount? I’m so confused. Are people annoyed with my offers? I don’t want to annoy anybody. I would love to hear from buyers on this one because I don’t have that perspective as a seller.

1 and 1/2 year old maltipoo threw up right after eating her food she eats every day

My poor baby threw up on the blanket on the couch (she’s such a smart considerate girl to not get it on the actual couch) about an hour after eating her food. This isn’t normal at all as she’s only ever thrown up one other time before when she was about six months old. Literally fed her the same food that she eats every day. I put a tiny little bit of cheese on top this time, but she’s eaten cheese dozens and dozens of times before and there’s never been a problem. Not sure what I did wrong. Should I be worried if she only threw up once? She hasn’t drank much water since. She’s currently cuddled up on the couch resting with her favorite toy. But right after she threw up she immediately wanted to play with her toys, which I found reassuring.

I read online that you’re supposed to try to feed them again a few hours later. But I thought before I try to feed her again now I should ask on here if there’s anything I should or shouldn’t do. We were going to go out and enjoy the day but now we’re just staying home. Also it’s not that hot here but my place is air-conditioned so I know she’s not too hot or anything like that.

Edit- just want to mention my dog doesn’t eat fast. She eats pretty slow. She finishes most of her food, but then leaves some to nibble on later. So it wasn’t a result of eating too fast. I also want to include that she’s about 8 pounds. Not sure if that matters though.

Posted a new listing and it immediately shows that it’s “inactive”

I clicked it and told it to activate the listing, but it still shows that it’s inactive. I literally just posted it two seconds ago. Has anybody else had this happen and knows how to fix it? I’ve already clicked “active” twice to tell poshmark that it is still active and still available for sale. I mean obviously it’s still available for sale as I posted it two seconds ago. But nothing is changing, it still shows as “inactive”

Question for my fellow sellers!

I just want to know how common this is. Back when I was just a buyer I never asked for discounts I would just buy the item for the price it was listed for. When you started selling online were you shocked that people would ask for like 50 to 60% discounts? I guess I always bought things for the price they were listed for because most sellers already list things at like 25-50% off the retail price. So I felt like I was already getting a discount idk.

Like I remember in 2019 I bought Jeffrey Campbell heels on poshmark that were originally like $160 and they were listed at $120 (I just looked up the old order to be sure of the numbers) so since that was already 25% off I bought them. But they didn’t come bubble wrapped or packaged well they were just thrown in a box so they came a bit damaged. But I didn’t think to return them because my logic was like well I got them for $40 less so of course they’re not going to be in perfect condition. But now I will sell something for like over 60% off that actually is in perfect condition nwt and also I double bubble wrap everything.

Anyways I’m just wondering are things very different now than they used to be? Or is this how it’s always been when selling online but I just didn’t know?

Don’t know what I’m doing wrong

I used to send out 10% offers every time someone liked my listings, but people on here said it wasn’t a big enough incentive so as of a month ago I started sending out 20% offers. For some reason ever since I’ve started sending out 20% discount offers I’ve had zero sales from sent offers. I have made a few sales but they have only been from people sending me an offer first or just them buying the item outright. But still this is nowhere near the sales I was making months ago.

But I thought sending out a higher percentage discount would initiate more sales. I’m so confused. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. Wouldn’t people prefer a 20% discount rather than a 10% discount? The only thing I can think of is maybe they feel like they can’t counter back now because it’s already 20% off. Like maybe the initial 10% offer left more room for negotiation? Idk I’m trying to figure it out.

Edit - also I don’t really have the right buyers perspective for this because I always bought things for the full price. If I ever did ask for any discount, it was just enough to make up for the shipping so that the shipping is technically “free“. So like a 5 to 10 dollar discount at most. So imagine my shock when I started selling online and people were asking for 60% off!

Movie recommendations based on my recent watches

Would love some movie recommendations based on my most recent watches! I do theme months and this month’s theme is “period pieces” so please recommend your favorites! Last month theme should be pretty obvious based on the movies here, and so far this month I’ve watched Amadeus which I immediately added to my favorite films list.

Regarding a recent post about heat stroke

Someone on here recently posted about their little maltipoo puppy suffering from heat stroke and I commented on the post. I want to make sure everybody sees these tips so we can all keep our little babies safe this summer! I’m going to copy and paste my comment here.

“This sounds like heat stroke which is so scary! So glad your little baby is ok now. I’ve researched a lot into this and just want to leave a few tips here.

If you suspect heat stroke immediately splash cold water on the back of the neck and the tummy and the inner legs. Get them into shade or inside if possible and out of the heat immediately. Of course try to get them to drink water if you can. But cooling them down first is important. If they are unconscious take them to an emergency vet immediately but try to be cooling them down on the way there. Do NOT wrap your dog in a cold wet towel because that will trap heat in. You want to be splashing the cold water on the back of the neck and tummy and inner legs. I’ve done a lot of research into this so these tips are all correct but I’m sure there is more I am missing.

Also remember when going for a walk if the ground is too hot for your hand then it is too hot for their paws.”

Also if anyone has any other important tips please leave them below! My comment was specific to the post I was responding to, so my comment was specifically about what to do if your puppy actually has heat stroke.

What is your method for countering offers as a seller?

Just wondering from more experienced sellers what is a good method for countering offers? Almost anytime I counter the buyer either responds back with a little bit above their original offer or they just completely ghost. Twice I’ve clicked “match buyers last offer” and then they do buy it. I just thought countering wouldn’t really be a problem because my logic is if you really want to buy the item why would you mind paying just like 10 or 20 bucks more?

I’ll give an example. I have a high quality real leather purse that was originally like almost $500 in basically perfect condition and I have it listed for $250. I sent them an offer for $210. The buyer counters $150. Considering the very lowest I wanted to go was like $200 I think ok I’ll meet in the middle closer to their offer for $175. There’s no way they won’t accept that. So I counter at $175. Nothing. Crickets. Like this purse is worth $500 and you don’t want to spend $25 more? It’s just confusing to me idk. But I’m only a seller and not a buyer so it’s possible I don’t see the full picture here. That’s why I would love some insight from more experienced sellers and buyers too. Any help is appreciated! Thanks.

Edit - I know the economy is bad. I know people aren’t spending a lot of money rn. My question is asking about a good method of countering offers since mine doesn’t seem to be working.

I made the dumbest mistake!

Since some of you seemed to enjoy my strange return story I have one more story! So I had an expensive real leather handbag that I was listing at $200. Except I accidentally listed it at $20. Somehow forgot the last zero. Or maybe there was just something weird going on with Poshmark. I don’t know how it happened. Anyways pretty soon after listing someone made me an offer on it for like $15 or something. Quickly realizing my mistake I raised the price to $200 and left a comment on the listing tagging them to explain my mistake. The funny thing is if they had just bought the bag I would’ve had to honor the sale, because it would’ve been my mistake. But luckily they still wanted to get an even better deal than a $400 handbag for $20. If there is one lesson to be learned here it’s that being cheap will always cost you in the end.

Also fellow sellers please take this as a reminder to always double check your listings! Because there can occasionally be little mistakes, or big mistakes.

Edit - In case anyone was curious about the conclusion, the bag ended up selling a few weeks later for $165

Strange return story

So since I recently shared a very wacky return situation on here (that I’m still dealing with) I want to share the story of the only other return request I’ve ever had on Poshmark as a seller. So I sold a woman a leather jacket. It’s a vintage leather jacket and it has a unique collar and lapels and very unique zippers. As soon as she gets the jacket she sends photos of it ripped at the collar and is very angry that it’s damaged. I tell her I’m so sorry it must’ve gotten damaged in the mail I approve the return and say I’ll make sure she gets her full refund. I thought I was doing the right thing. Also, this was my very first return and I had never had anything like this happen before.

But then instead of responding with something like “thanks” she responses accusing me of “switching out the jackets” and says this jacket is completely different than the one in the listing photos. I tell her I promise it’s the same jacket. Look at the collar and lapels. Look at the tags. Look at the unique zippers. This jacket is vintage. I wouldn’t even know how to find another one. I promise it’s the same jacket. She goes back-and-forth with me a little bit where I try to reassure her it is indeed the same jacket and also reiterate to her that I’ve already approved her return.

Then she suggests that I must’ve sewed on the lapels and tags and attached the zippers onto another jacket. I told her I wouldn’t even know how to do that. I’m simply not that talented. I promise it’s the same jacket. Anyways, Poshmark finally gets involved. Poshmark reviews everything and I tell Poshmark I already approved her return because I don’t want anyone to get a damaged item. Poshmark then confirms this jacket matches the listing photos. Never hear from the buyer ever again.

So anyways, I guess the point of this is if you’re dealing with a weird return situation try not to take it personally.

What is the best time to send out offers and discounts or to lower the price on items?

I just realized I always send out offers sort of late at night and people are probably sleeping and don’t see them. But late at night is usually when I actually have time to check Poshmark and go through listings and see what has been up too long I should discount further. I pretty much always send out offers late at night like maybe 9 or 10 PM (pst). So that’s like 1 AM on the East Coast. There’s no way they’re even seeing it. So now I’m just not sure what days and times are best. Also what’s the best time to lower the price of items? I haven’t seen the closet clean out banner in weeks, and I used to just wait for that but it seems to be gone now. Any help or insight is appreciated!

Why do the people who like 10+ items in your closet never buy anything?

Just a genuine question for the buyers on here. It confuses me because they like over 10 items in my closet and then I send offers and they never buy anything. I get lots of sales and usually it’s from people who like one or two maybe three items at most. But I find when someone likes a ton of things they never buy. Also my closet is kind of small because I only sell from my own personal wardrobe. I’ve seen people like over half of the items in my closet before. But never buy.

Would appreciate some clarification from buyers on this one. Are you just window shopping? I know that just a like doesn’t mean I’m owed any sales or anything like that. But when they like so many items it does confuse me. Especially when I offer like 30 to 50% off on bundles depending on what the person is getting. Anyways, any insight is appreciated!

I have hundreds of sales and haven’t had any bad experiences until literally this last week. Both of them mentioned Amazon in their complaints. First someone gave me a one star rating soley due to “ship time” and the only thing she said is the jacket “took too long” to get to her. She purchased on Sunday and I shipped it Monday morning. Ground shipping can take 5 to 7 days sometimes and she was very upset that it arrived a week after she bought it. I told her I cannot control USPS and it shipped within 24 hours of your purchase. But no answer of course.

Next I sold a pair of earbuds that came in the original packaging as they were never used as they were given to me as a gift but I don’t wear earbuds and only wear headphones so that’s the reason why I sold them. But I had to open it to take pictures of everything for the listing to prove they were in perfect condition and as advertised. The pictures in the listing showed everything. The buyer got the item and he’s very upset that it didn’t come sealed in plastic on the outside of the packaging. He said that on Amazon it would’ve come sealed in plastic. I tried to explain to him I had to open them to take the pictures that were in the listing. He admits they are in perfect condition and never used but is saying I “scammed” him because the packaging should be sealed in plastic like it would be on Amazon. Meanwhile, on Amazon he would have to buy it for full price and he got mine for 50% off. Despite everything being completely brand new, it is not sealed in plastic. Which would be impossible since I had to take photos for the listing.

I feel like there’s just no way to reason with these sort of people. Both mentioned that it would’ve come faster with Amazon and with Amazon it would’ve been sealed in plastic. Why do they think we are Amazon?? I’m just so confused. Has anyone else had this experience recently?

Edit - typos

So this buyer purchased the item Sunday night. I shipped out Monday morning and somehow I got a 1 star rating for “ship time“. It shipped out last Monday and arrived to her 7 days later. I always make it a priority to be honest and communicative. I messaged her when she first purchased the item thanking her for the purchase and that I would ship the next day. She asked me where the tracking information was so I explained to her where to find the tracking information on Poshmark, and after explaining it to her in detail three times she said thanks and that was the end of the conversation. I don’t think it’s right to give a one star rating for a $150 item that she got for $30 that was brand new with tags in perfect condition just because it took a week to get to her. Ground shipping sometimes takes a week. Does she think I can control USPS?

Does anyone know any way that I could get this removed because it’s just simply not accurate that I need to improve ship time when it was shipped within 24 hours of the purchase. I literally could not physically have shipped any faster.

I’ve only been sending out 10% offers but recently started doing 20% on poshmark but don’t know if it’s much of a difference. I feel like people either ignore or accept or they counter with what they want to pay anyways regardless of what you sent. But maybe I’m wrong. Would love to know other sellers strategy and what they have found success with! As well as insight from buyers.

Also if I’m selling something for $30 then sending a 20% off is fine but if I’m selling something for $300 then sending a 20% discount is very different. So I feel like I’m selling something expensive 10% is still a good discount. The expensive things I sell are high-quality leather handbags or designer pieces. Like they are not typically items that are discounted anyways. Also I always start at a very fair price. But to leave a little room for negotiation.

I guess the point of this post is just to ask fellow sellers what their strategy is and what they have found works best? I have a lot of pieces I’m trying to get rid of so I can list more so I’m really just trying to sell as much as I can right now. I’ve been accepting a lot of offers lower than I typically would. But I just recently did a huge spring closet clean out and need to get rid of a lot of stuff. Also some pieces from work as well, as I work in the fashion industry.
