Hi everyone, I hope someone can help me with a problem that’s driving me crazy with my Olivetti Valentine.
I’ve just been given this beauty as a gift, but I immediately noticed that the carriage on the left-hand side was ‘jumping’ and didn’t run perfectly straight, getting stuck. I realised straight away that the problem lay with the bearing spheres and retainers; one in particular was practically off the track. I managed to remove the entire carriage body with ease (partly because it wasn’t secure without the retainer).
The problem now is that I haven’t the faintest idea how to reposition the retainers and all four spheres at the same time. Would anyone know how to help me?

I’ve already tried to follow the instructions given in these previous posts 1, 2, including those for the Olivetti Lettera 32, which has virtually the same mechanism, but I still can’t figure out how to reposition them whilst keeping everything in the correct place.
