Seeking Volatility…

Intel have been all over the map recently, often starting the day 3-6% different than the previous end price. I wasn’t sure about how to go about trading it, but wanted to try and capitalise on the fairly extreme volatility.

I’ve ended up copy trading an account that not only exclusively trades INTC shares, but also mentions volatility trading as part of its algorithmic setup. It’s gone well enough so far that I’m looking for other volatile assets to trade in a similar way if anyone has any ideas?

The copy trade master account holder has said they are willing to look at opening trading accounts for other assets on request, and is even willing to back-test their algorithm to check compatibility.

Broker performance metrics not enough…

I’m looking to copy trade, but am finding the performance statistics on most broker sites quite limited. Does anyone else feel the same?

Master accounts that publish their results on one of the independent statistics sites, like FX Blue or MyFXBook, would be ideal but I haven’t found any so far that are willing to be that transparent 🫤

Looking beyond the numbers when selecting a master account to copy trade…

I have used automated copy trading as part of my day trading setup for a while with mixed results. I tend to concentrate on baseline numbers when picking a master account to copy, but I’m wondering whether gaining extra insight into their trading style (risk approach, market philosophy, how they manage drawdown periods, etc) could be beneficial if such info was available.

Curious if others agree, or have actually found master accounts which supply a bit of extra context to their trading beyond the standard performance numbers (although I also realise copy trading isn’t everyone’s cup of tea 😉).

When copy trading should you actually care about the idea behind a strategy, or just the end result?

I’ve been copy trading as part of my trading portfolio for a while with mixed results. I tend to concentrate on baseline numbers when picking a master account to copy, but I’m thinking that understanding their trading style (risk approach, market philosophy, how they manage drawdown periods, etc) could be beneficial if such info was available.

Curious as to how others would/do approach this, although I also realise copy trading isn’t everyone’s cup of tea 😉
