Literally a walking joke at this point. I want better chatting experience since the app is about "chatting" yet they publish useless things like this. Who even asked for this?
Is fluctuating tinnitus normal?
So this is my first time actually sharing a question related to my hearing. But my tinnitus began after heavy worry. My tinnitus fluctuates constantly like sometimes it is quiet sometimes non existent (even in silence) when it appears it does so when I am stressed and checking my ears or do valsalva repeatedly. Valsalva worsens it the most.
My otoscopy is clean and my audiogram came normal in hearing.
Is there anything else I must know about tinnitus and something I should do?
What I think about the future of Tinnitus
I actually don't think anything new will come for us. A cure? Absolutely not within the next 50 years. I don't want to be a Sally Downer but there is also no reason to act like Pollyanna. A growth gene is being found almost every few years and they either connect wrong or does nothing for tinnitus anyway. There is little to no hope in the field since it is too much focused into habituation (despite being shitty) and neuromodulation (which just weakens the signal and maybe makes you hear tinnitus less. Maybe.) What do you guys think our future is?
Is it physiological or tinnitus
Hello, I am 19M, I had a ENT visit a month ago about hearing deep waterfall like noises in silence and when I press my ear to the pillow to sleep.
Valsalva increases the tinnitus noise and raises it from waterfall-like noise to electric static or whirring of a machinery.
They did an otoscopy, checked my throat and nose and have me take an audiogram where everything came normal.
My doctor told me that I should worry less about my ears, focus less on them and live my life like normal and it should pass.
I have a loud music past for around 3-4 years. My tinnitus started after someone told me there is something called tinnitus and began checking my ears daily with white noise, close it and check it in silence. I would be happy if you answer my question and I will try to do my best to answer your answers.
Confusing Tinnitus
Honestly I don't even know what my problem is anymore. I am 18M, after extensive research and constant testing myself with white noise I began to hear tinnitus. At first I did not care much but continued my research and now came the third month where I am depressed from it. I hear it in silence in one ear, if I go to silence I feel and hear some static in my ears and head, when I do valsalva in silence it turns into whirring or sometimes tonal.
I can hear up to 17khz, I used to listen loud music using earbuds, normal audiogram and normal otoscopy. What do I do now? Is this damage? Permanent?
