  • Listas, histórico, progresso e “Continuar assistindo” sincronizados

ARVIO v1.9.994 – Expanded Jellyfin support for Android TV and mobile

Hi everyone,

I’m the developer of ARVIO, a free and open-source media hub for Android TV, Google TV, phones, and tablets.

ARVIO is much more than a Jellyfin client, it is a Mediahub. It has been in active development for over a year, is used by approximately 2,000 people daily, and has more than 10 active contributors helping with development, testing, design, translations, and moderation.

ARVIO brings different personal media services and user-configured integrations together in one consistent interface. Its broader features include:

  • Jellyfin, Plex, and Emby home-server integration
  • User-configured HTTP and debrid services (Stremio addons)
  • Support for compatible metadata, source, catalog, and subtitle add-ons
  • Telegram library and streaming integration
  • Full Trakt and Simkl integration
  • Synchronized/custom catalogs, watchlists, history, watched status, ratings, lists, and Continue Watching
  • AI-powered subtitle tools
  • EPG, catch-up, and Live TV support
  • Automatic and manual source selection
  • Unified search, recommendations, catalogs, and library management
  • Cloud synchronization across televisions, phones, tablets, and the optional browser app

The latest update allows users to browse their homeserver libraries within the app.

ARVIO does not host or supply media. Users connect their own home servers, services, and compatible add-ons.

The goal is not to replace Jellyfin’s official clients, but to give people who use Jellyfin alongside other services one unified experience.

The Android app remains completely free and open source. An optional Premium tier provides browser access for Apple and other non-Android devices but does not affect the APK. Feedback from Jellyfin users is welcome.

Website:
https://arvio.tv

ARVIO is independently developed and is not affiliated with the Jellyfin project. AI tools are used extensively during development, alongside reviews, testing, and contributions from the project’s human contributors. This is disclosed openly: if you are uncomfortable using AI-assisted software, ARVIO may not be the right project for you.

What does ARVIO really need?

Arvio was a hobby project for myself that turned into an app with thousands of daily users...

After 8 months of developments it has pretty much everything I envisioned when starting this project and what I wanted to see in a media hub. From addons integrations to homeservers like plex, live tv integrations, telegram etc etc.

Ofc not everything works perfect, but we getting there...

I seen 200+ feature requests but still wanted to ask here. In the current version, what does Arvio need? What is it missing? Or is it fine as it is and just needs to fix the bugs xD.

Also if you are interested in helping with the future of Arvio and willing to contribute see: https://forms.gle/XdotQV2mwmCVkTeZ8

I built ARVIO — a free, open-source streaming hub for Fire TV/ATV (no ads, no IAP)

Been working on this project for over a year and figured this sub might like it. ARVIO is an open-source media hub for Android/Fire TV — Stremio-style, but with a Netflix-like interface actually built for the remote. ARVIO does not host any media.

Why another one when Stremio and Kodi and 50 others exist? Honest answer: I wanted one app that handles free http addons AND my debrid service (Real-Debrid, TorBox, Premiumize, AllDebrid) AND my Jellyfin/Plex libraries AND Telegram media AND something that is forbidden to mention all in a clean and smooth UI— without ads, upsells or a clunky UI.

Couldn't find it, so I built it myself. ARVIO recently passed 10k+ downloads and has thousands of daily users.

What you get:

  • Completely free. No ads, no in-app purchases, no account required.
  • Open source — all code is on GitHub, check it yourself
  • D-pad first: built for the remote, not a phone app stretched onto a TV
  • Trakt sync, subtitles built in, profiles like Netflix
  • 4K / HDR / Dolby Vision playback where your device supports it
  • Sideload it with Downloader from the GitHub releases page:

https://github.com/ProdigyV21/ARVIO

Screenshots attached. Happy to answer questions or take feature requests.

ARVIO now runs in your browser — open-source streaming hub finally works on iPhone/iPad/Windows (web version, with a free 24h trial)

Hey everyone,

I'm the dev of ARVIO, an open-source streaming hub for Android TV (Stremio-style: you bring your own addons, debrid services, IPTV lists and media servers — it's a client, we don't host anything).

The most requested feature since launch has been "can I use this on my iPhone/iPad/laptop?" and since Apple/windows devices can't sideload an APK, the answer was always no. Until now.

ARVIO Web → https://web.arvio.tv

Same experience as the app, in any browser:

  • Netflix-style UI with profiles, watchlist, Continue Watching and Trakt sync
  • Debrid support (TorBox, Real-Debrid, Premiumize, AllDebrid) with cached streams up to 4K
  • Downloads: grab any file from any addon or source with one button, straight to your device (on iPad even directly into VLC for offline watching)
  • Live TV with a full EPG guide
  • One-tap "Open in VLC" on every platform. Browsers can't decode 4K HEVC, Dolby Vision or REMUX files (no browser can), so heavy files hand off to VLC as external player, which plays everything
  • OpenSubtitles built in, and everything syncs with the Android app

About pricing, to be fully upfront: the Android/TV app is free and open source, and it will ALWAYS remain 100% free — nothing is moving behind a paywall, that's a promise. The web version is a separate, optional thing at $2.99/month, purely because it runs on servers and bandwidth I pay for monthly. There's a free 24-hour trial with no payment info needed, so you can decide if it's worth it before spending anything.

Source code (same repo as the app): https://github.com/ProdigyV21/ARVIO

Landing page with screenshots: https://arvio.tv

Happy to answer questions and if something breaks, tell me here or in the GitHub/discord issues, benefit of the webapp is that I can fix things fast and no new download/apk needed..

ARVIO V1.9.981 release

This release focuses on correct IPTV provider ordering, broader playback compatibility, faster and more reliable source handling, and Android stability.

Live TV and IPTV

  • Restored the exact category names and order supplied by Xtream providers, while preserving each provider's channel sequence inside every category.
  • Removed raw M3U sorting labels such as [A][B], and [Q] from taking priority over clean Xtream category names.
  • Added a complete IPTV order/cache migration so deleting or replacing a playlist cannot restore stale categories from SQLite, EPG, JSON, local settings, or cloud sync.
  • Preserved playlist order through loading, paging, settings, cloud synchronization, and the TV category sidebar.
  • Moved large IPTV cache cleanup off the UI thread to avoid settings freezes with large providers.

Playback, Sources, and Subtitles

  • Added Dolby Vision Profile 7 compatibility handling for unsupported devices, HDR10 fallback processing, improved audio passthrough, and complete AIOStreams source handling. Thanks u/silentbil via #451.
  • Improved subtitle preloading, automatic best-match selection, synchronization, and Gemini translation handling. Thanks u/silentbil via #446 and #450.
  • Fixed configured add-ons occasionally failing to appear in the source list until a later retry.
  • Added complete pagination for Trakt watched movies and shows so large histories are no longer silently truncated.

Home and Home Servers

  • Fixed Plex, Jellyfin, and Emby code-login routing so each setup code opens the correct provider flow and newly connected servers become available reliably.
  • Fixed home catalog rows unexpectedly jumping back to the beginning while browsing horizontally.
  • Restored correct poster and skeleton behavior across TV and mobile home layouts. Thanks u/Himanth-reddy via #433.

Stability and Interface

  • Centered the TV search field and quick-filter controls consistently. Thanks u/Himanth-reddy via #434.
  • Hardened settings values against null-related crashes. Thanks u/Himanth-reddy via #425.
  • Fixed profile deletion synchronization and related home-screen state restoration. Thanks u/Himanth-reddy via #424.
  • Added a TV/mobile crash recovery and Discord reporting flow. Thanks u/Himanth-reddy via #421.
  • Improved coroutine cancellation, account-sync completion checks, and internal Android safety across networking and repositories. Thanks u/Himanth-reddy via #422.

Hi everyone V1.9.97 is here,

Changes:

  • Reduced noisy non-fatal crash reports so Sentry quota is protected while real crashes still report.
  • Hardened IPTV/TV page loading by normalizing legacy IPTV URLs and preventing bad guide/channel rows from crashing the app.
  • Fixed plugin cloud sync invalidation so addon/plugin changes refresh more reliably. Thanks u/test01203.
  • Improved cloud sync timing so local changes push/pull more reliably. Thanks u/silentbil.
  • Improved AI subtitles. Thanks u/silentbil.
  • Added full French translation and externalized more hardcoded UI strings. Thanks u/foXaCe.
  • Improved website image loading, performance, and UI polish.

ARVIO Web has received a major upgrade.

You can now manage almost everything directly from the web app, including profile-specific settings, watchlists, IPTV group order, and more. This makes it much easier to configure ARVIO from a browser, especially when setting things up across multiple profiles.

A big thanks to Silentbil for maintaining the web app and putting in the work to keep improving it.

ARVIO v1.9.962 update: new cloud server and password reset required

ARVIO v1.9.962 is now available.

ARVIO Cloud has moved from the old Supabase server to a new ARVIO cloud server. This was needed because the old server setup started causing serious backend/billing problems and was no longer safe to keep relying on. The new server will be more reliable for sync and the future of ARVIO.

Because of this move, existing cloud users will most likely need to create a new password before logging in again. You can still use the same email address and all data has been migrated, but your old password will not work on the new server.

This is intentional: passwords were not migrated for security reasons. Passwords should never be copied or exported in plain form, so the safest option is to let every user set a fresh password on the new backend.

To do this, go to:

https://auth.arvio.tv

Use the password reset / forgot password option with the same email address you used before. After setting a new password, you can log in again in ARVIO Cloud.

Downloader code: 2059166

Website:
https://arvio.tv

Play Store:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arvio.tv

The Play Store version may take up to 24 hours to show the latest update.

Edit: Known issue is that TV page still crashes for some people, even after readding IPTV. Am still looking into this since I never had such a crash before.

V1.9.96 release Bugfixes & Telegram cache fix

Update is released very early because of some crash bugs.

Changelog

  • Watchlist now opens much faster by showing local/cloud cached items first, syncing Trakt in the background, and avoiding slow per-item TMDB hydration before the page appears.
  • Trakt watchlist loading now maps Trakt-provided TMDB ids/title/year immediately, then enriches posters and details after visible content is already on screen.
  • Fixed a watchlist spinner loop caused by refreshing the page again on the first resume event.
  • Improved the source selector scrolling and focus behavior, added source-list scroll indicators, and sorted sources by quality/size more predictably. u/test01203 u/The-cpu-max
  • Restored the mobile Addons settings page so Stremio addons can be managed from phones/tablets.
  • Improved Hebrew localization and RTL behavior. u/test01203
  • Improved Telegram search behavior based on the user language. u/silentbil
  • Fixed Telegram cache and RTL-related issues. u/silentbil
  • Fixed plugin-feature build failures and related release workflow issues. u/silentbil
  • Updated GitHub Actions verification so PR checks also run correctly for forked pull requests. u/silentbil
  • Improved the ARVIO website landing page UX with theme toggle and scroll spy navigation. u/Bivek01 u/bivekm01
  • Added and updated ARVIO website copy, including Telegram integration messaging.

Fix if you encounter crashes

For those encountering crashes after the latest update. There were some cloud changes to improve cloud sync. Your iptv/addons might still be on older cloud data and making Arvio crash when pulling them.

Easy fix is to remove IPTV lists or addons and then add them again. This should fix the crash issue and should also make loading times better.

ARVIO V1.9.94 release - Stronger Catchup support and quality fixes.

This release focuses on making the TV/IPTV experience much faster and more reliable, while also improving metadata, playback, mobile polish, and app stability.

The TV feature is not intended to fully replace your core live TV apps, ARVIO is designed to combine all those features, but it is still far away from becoming the best in each discipline. Step by step they become better.

TV, IPTV, EPG, and catchup

  • Reworked large IPTV list handling so 50k+ channel playlists load and navigate more smoothly.
  • Added faster visible-first EPG loading, SQLite-backed EPG indexing, warmer guide caches, and improved guide matching.
  • Added and refined support for multiple EPG sources per IPTV playlist.
  • Improved catchup support with fullscreen guide browsing, archive-aware playback URLs, past guide history, and better seek/pause behavior.
  • Fixed several IPTV category issues, including hidden category restore visibility and cleaner category behavior.
  • Improved live TV playback startup, Stalker/Xtream handling, stream headers, buffering behavior, and source fallback behavior.
  • Fixed TV guide back navigation and reduced slow fullscreen live-TV exit behavior.
  • Improved TV channel logos, channel metadata, provider scoping, and guide navigation stability.

Playback and sources

  • Improved startup playback retry/failover so bad first attempts can move to the next valid source more reliably.
  • Avoided debrid side effects during stream prewarm, so searching no longer starts unwanted debrid downloads.
  • Improved default audio selection, including a None option for users who need it.
  • Improved source switching, mini-player/fullscreen transitions, and player error handling.

Metadata, ratings, and discovery

  • Switched title metadata toward real IMDb ratings when available.
  • Added IMDb-style ratings for episodes and improved rating hydration across home/details.
  • Prefetched provider logos and IMDb metadata so focused cards show service badges faster.
  • Fixed mobile catalog pagination and missing landscape logos.

Mobile, UI, and settings polish

  • Added Chromecast support for the mobile player.
  • Added Picture-in-Picture mode for touch devices.
  • Redesigned the watchlist with separate Movies and Series rows.
  • Added a Netflix-style mobile hero carousel and improved mobile layout/search spacing.
  • Improved TV settings polish, input modal button visibility, accent/focus states, and launcher icon centering.
  • Improved screen-timeout handling so the screen is kept on only during playback.

Stability, security, and cleanup

  • Reduced noisy handled crash reports in Sentry.
  • Hardened IPTV JSON loading against memory pressure and reduced guide memory churn.
  • Added usage analytics tracking.
  • Hardened auth email sending.
  • Added pairing-token validation and replaced wildcard CORS with an origin allowlist.

ARVIO V1.9.93: TMDB Hotfix & Settings page upgrade.

Due to TMDB issues the update is released earlier than expected.

Highlights

  • Fixed cloud sync reliability so fresh local changes are pushed before cloud restore can overwrite them.
  • Added missing cloud sync coverage for DNS, custom User-Agent, OLED background, focus border color, loading stats, TorrServer URL, and related profile settings.
  • Home server tokens are now encrypted at rest locally while remaining restorable through cloud sync.
  • Fixed TMDB/API gzip edge cases and metadata failures that caused missing posters, black detail backgrounds, and details page crashes.
  • Fixed playback startup/autoplay behavior so autoplay starts the highest source first and manual source selection starts the selected source.
  • Improved TV home and player UI: cleaner pause overlay metadata, better hero metadata layout, lower hero positioning, larger IMDb/service markers, and better visual grouping.
  • Added support for multiple EPG links per IPTV playlist.
  • Improved IPTV/home-server loading, continue watching artwork, mobile home-server audio track selection, custom User-Agent editing, and non-Trakt cloud/continue-watching sync.

ARVIO - An opensource mediahub for Android. Now also supports Jellyfin connection

Hi everyone,

I am the developer of ARVIO. ARVIO is an open-source media hub for Android TV, Android phones, and tablets. It is built around a TV-first interface with remote navigation, but it also supports mobile and tablet layouts. The app does not host or provide media content. Users connect their own libraries, playlists, accounts, servers, and sources.

One of the bigger recent additions is home-server support. You can connect a user-owned Jellyfin server (or Emby/Plex) and ARVIO can show matching Jellyfin items as playable sources on movie and series details pages. The goal is to make Jellyfin libraries fit into the same browsing, search, continue-watching, and source-selection flow as the rest of the app.

Recent Jellyfin/home-server related additions:

  • Connect user-owned Jellyfin servers from settings
  • Show Jellyfin media as sources on matching movie and series details pages
  • Support multiple connected home servers with custom labels
  • Import home-server collections as ARVIO catalogs
  • Improved source labels so it is clearer which server a source comes from
  • Improved matching speed and autoplay behavior for home-server sources
  • Better handling for movies, series, and episode matching

Other recent ARVIO improvements:

  • Android TV, mobile, and tablet support
  • Live tv playlist support with improved categories, EPG loading, VOD handling, and TV navigation
  • Third-party addon support, including debrid and HTTP sources
  • Profiles with optional cloud sync for settings, catalogs, watch state, IPTV state, and avatars
  • Trakt watchlist and continue-watching improvements
  • Better Android TV focus handling and smoother navigation
  • Subtitle improvements, including language filtering, defaults, offset/style settings, and AI subtitles
  • Search and catalog discovery improvements

ARVIO update: open-source media hub with support for home servers, debrid/HTTP addons, live tv and cloud sync

Hi everyone,

It has been about 2 months since the last post about ARVIO here, so I wanted to share the new developments.

ARVIO is an open-source & free media hub for Android TV, Android phones, and tablets. It is built around a TV-first interface, but also works on mobile and tablet with touch-friendly layouts. It includes remote navigation, profiles, watch progress, catalog browsing, search, Live TV support, home-server sources, and user-configured third-party addons, including debrid and HTTP addon support.

ARVIO does not host or provide media content. Users connect their own libraries, playlists, accounts, servers, and sources.

Recent highlights:

  • Android TV, mobile, and tablet support
  • Home-server source support for user-owned Plex, Jellyfin, and Emby libraries
  • Home-server collections can appear as ARVIO catalogs
  • Live TV improvements, including better categories, EPG loading, VOD handling, and TV navigation
