ARC Readers Wanted for New Lesbian Detective Novel - Heteronomy

ARC Readers Wanted for New Lesbian Detective Novel - Heteronomy

Hey everyone! There was a mix-up/misunderstanding on my part when originally posting this the last time so I'm putting it up again in case anyone essentially wants a free copy of a sapphic crime thriller.

I released book 1 of my new lesbian detective series last month, which takes place in 2002 Van Nuys, California, and this month I'm happy to announce that book 2 is now open for ARC entries! It's called Heteronomy and it can be read and enjoyed even if you haven't read book 1 (called Underwater). However, there are references and character motivations that you will be easier to understand if you do read book 1. Basically, it's not required, but it is recommended. If you sign up to ARC read, please read the content warnings. The link to the google form and the booksirens page will be below.

Check out Book 1 Here if you're interested!

Here is the blurb and the cover (done by Studio Storam and Ian Mix).

>A young girl named Tess shows up to the police station and asks for Detective Gale Blue by name. She says her sister is being abused by her new boyfriend, but when Gale starts investigating the allegations, things spiral into something much bigger than the detective could have ever anticipated.

>A murder, a missing woman, and a human trafficking operation are all pieces to a much bigger puzzle, and Gale doesn't have much time to put it all together.

>As she struggles against night terrors and paranoia caused by her last case, Detective Blue must work together with her partner and a DA prosecutor before an innocent woman turns up dead.

ARC Readers Wanted for 'Heteronomy' — A Lesbian Detective Novel

Hey everyone! It's ya local sapphic crime thriller baddie, Vi, back at it again with another ARC unboxing sign-up form.

Last time I was here, I sent out a callout for ARC readers for Book #1 in my crime fiction series, The Blue Cases. That book was called Underwater. Now, I’m doing the same thing, but for Book #2—Heteronomy.

I appreciate all ARC readers and value anyone who takes the time out of their day to participate in something that I created, along with the amazing work of my artists, Storam and Ian, who bring my visions for the book covers to life. Without them, and without all of you, this wouldn’t be possible.

You don’t need to read the first book to enjoy this one (or so my beta readers have told me), but reading the first book will give you a little more context to characters and small callbacks.

PLEASE READ THE TRIGGER WARNING ON THE FORM!

Now, enough rambling from me, let me present the blurb to you. I hope to see you on the submission form!

>A missing woman. A murder. A human trafficking operation.

>A girl named Tess shows up to the police station and asks for Detective Gale Blue by name. She says her sister is being abused by her new boyfriend, but when Gale starts investigating the allegations, things spiral into something much bigger than the detective could have ever anticipated.

ARC readers wanted for Heteronomy, a lesbian detective book!

Hey everyone, I’m back! Last time I was here, I sent out a callout for ARC readers for Book #1 in my crime fiction series The Blue Cases. That book was called Underwater. Now, I’m doing the same thing, but it’s for Book #2—Heteronomy.

Set in the year 2002, the story explores different themes, such as the prevalence of systemic violence against women in society and the abuse of sex workers and adult entertainers.

I appreciate all ARC readers and value anyone who takes the time out of their day to participate in something that I created, along with the amazing work of my artists, Storam and Ian, who bring my visions for the book covers to life. Without them, and without all of you, this wouldn’t be possible.

Underwater just released! First entry in a lesbian detective series!

Underwater, the first book in my new detective series The Blue Cases, just released! It focuses on the struggles/stigmatization of mental health, systemic bigotry, and the hunt for a serial killer in 2002 Van Nuys, California. As per the guidelines of posting on here, let me give a bit of insight as to why I wanted to write something like this.

On top of always being interested in mysteries since watching things like Detective Conan and Criminal Minds at a young age, I've also suffered from many of the mental health issues that the main character in the book has suffered from, albeit due to different reasons, and still suffer from some of them to this day. It was an outlet, but also a way to let people have a conversation about things that are extremely difficult to talk about, because often the hardest things to listen to are the ones that deserve to be heard.

Here’s the blurb:

>In July of 2002, a body is discovered in a rundown apartment in Van Nuys, California. After Detective Gale Blue arrives on the scene, it becomes apparent that what she's witnessing is a murder staged to look like a suicide, and one phrase at the end of the victim's suicide note is especially strange.

>‘For the sake of our species, I choose to end it here, so that others can live.’

>How do you catch someone who covers their tracks and has no rhyme or reason to who they target next? Gale must reach a conclusion to that question before more innocent lives are lost.

>What she’s truly afraid of is the darkness she has to face within herself to get the answers she needs. The PTSD from a call she took that led to her previous partner's suicide one year ago still haunts her, and every day since, she's had to remind herself to do one thing...

>In for four, hold for seven, out for eight.

If you’re interested in checking it out, here’s the BookBub link, and if you want to know what other sapphic readers have thought, you can look at some of the reviews on goodreads. The eBook is on Kindle Unlimited, and the paperback is widely distributed, so you should be able to request a physical copy from your local bookstores! I'm also interested in getting into more sapphic crime thrillers, so if you have any to recommend, please do so. I'd love to expand my bookshelf.
