Onkyo TX-NR686 Repair

First time AVR repair attempt for me

Recently had a thunderstorm come through, and although my receiver and TV were connected to a surge protector, they both got jacked up when lightning struck nearby and tripped my GFCI.

My Onkyo receiver powers on and i can change the inputs, however nothing displays to the TV. I know the HDMI port on my TV got messed up, and other devices work on other HDMI ports. However the receiver does not display on any HDMI on the TV.

I was thinking about ordering a defective/no power Onkyo of the same model on eBay and swapping out the top board where all of the HDMI connectors are on. Is there a chance something else needs to be swapped out too?

Thanks!

How to sell a mazda lease (Mazda Financial)

Well turns out Carvana and Carmax do not purchase Mazda leases, although Mazda Financial Services allows the sale on their end.

After i was rejected at both Carvana and Carmax i came to reddit to see that other people have had the same issues. I went to a few local dealerships and was lowballed compared to the carmax and carvana offer (they didnt know the situation)

I found a leasehackr forum post that mentioned to try and sell the car to AlgoNation. So i worked with them and they came up on their offer price and they were only $200 under Carmax's offer. They are coming to pick the car up today.

Just making this post as an FYI for those who may be interested in leasing, and not finishing out your lease term. Hopefully this helps out other users in the future instead of wasting their time at dealerships to try and get out of their lease.

In my situation, my work changed and i mainly work from home. I have two other cars so the payment was unnecessary.

What to know for an interview

Hello,

I am looking for some advice from my fellow GCP users.

I applied for a position internal to my company for an engineer position to support/manage GCP for a high availability application used by a hospital (Large Enterprise).

I was lucky enough to get an interview, i think due to being internal with experience working with the application, but not managing the infrastructure side.

The position is a lower level position, asking for 1 year of relevant experience

I have started doing my own projects within Google Cloud to get acclimated and more hands on experience.

What are some things i MUST know for an entry level GCP position. This job would be a great step into what i want to do with my career, and i dont want to waste this opportunity.
