Norman knows something's off with Norma almost immediately

It's kind of ridiculous how quickly Norman notices when Norma's mood changes. She can still be doing the exact same thing she was doing five minutes ago, but if her tone changes even slightly he's already asking what's wrong. The problem is he's not always right about WHY she's upset, which usually just makes the whole conversation worse.

Hannibal getting all of Will's dogs chipped is such a weird detail

There's something so bizarrely practical about Hannibal getting all of Will's dogs chipped while Will is in jail.

Alana mentions it in Kaiseki when Jack comes over and Winston keeps trying to get back to Will. Hannibal apparently made sure the whole pack was chipped so they wouldn't disappear somewhere he couldn't find them.

Jane has a very specific way of checking if someone is lying: he stops trying to catch them.

Something I noticed about Jane is that when he actually suspects someone, he often becomes less confrontational. Instead of pushing harder, he'll suddenly change the subject, start talking about something completely irrelevant, or even let the suspect think they've gotten away with it. Then he'll casually circle back to the original detail later. The suspect usually gives him the answer without realizing they've just been tested.

Jane sometimes knows he's wrong before he finishes the trick

There's a little difference in Jane's behavior when he's genuinely figured something out versus when he's testing a theory. When he's certain, he barely watches the person anymore.

When he's guessing, he keeps watching their face for confirmation while he's talking. Once I noticed it, some of his "confident" scenes became much easier to read.

Abruzzi really just kept Fibonacci's name to himself

The first time around, the Fibonacci thing feels like a plot device to get Michael out of trouble. But Abruzzi actually sits on that information for quite a while. He knows exactly how valuable it is, and Michael has no idea that Abruzzi already has something that could completely change the balance between them.

Philip's voice changes when he's talking to Martha

One thing that stood out on a rewatch is how different Philip sounds around Martha. With most people, there's this constant calculation underneath everything he says. With her, his voice gets softer and he sounds almost tired. The accent is obviously part of the job, but the way Matthew Rhys plays Philip around Martha feels less like "Clark performing" and more like Philip actually getting lost in the character.
