I've been using the NYXL0980 on my 8 string for quite a while. But they are a bit pricey and during the search for something cheaper I found the Ernie Ball 2624 which are much cheaper.
I'm aware that the gauges are different but despite that is there a big noticable difference (when playing high gain)? And which of them are lasting longer?
So I'm currently learning (sic) and it has a lot of muting and I usually mute strings with my picking hand but I can't really do this anymore because the riffs are too fast for this now.
So I'm trying to use my frethand instead but when I mute the strings with all of my 4 fingers I always get some harmonics before the guitar is silent.
How can I prevent this? I already looked on youtube but I didn't found any helpful videos for metal guitarists
So I just had an internet outage and I couldn't work on my project because Ilok just crashed my whole daw because I wasn't connected. I checked if the licences are activated online or on my PC and all of them are activated on my PC. So why can't I use them without an internet connection?
The only solution I had was to open Ilok licence manager at least once when booting up my PC which is quite inconvenient.
And no, I won't buy a dongle because I don't see why I should buy an overpriced dongle just to use plugins I've already paid for.

I need a solid amp modeler which is good for metal (deathmetal/core mostly) for ~150€ that I want to use for small gigin/jamming.
I'm currently having an eye on the Ampero because you can get it second hand for my price budget and it also has IR, MIDI and NAM support (converts nam into it's own file format) which is very important for me since the amps I play aren't in the amplists of regular modelers.
Is there a better one for that price range or can I buy the Ampero and call it a day?
