MacBook Pro + Belkin charger drops from 70w to 50w after 15 minutes
My Belkin 70W charger consistently provides 70w for ~15 minutes, then switches to 50W - confirmed this in 'system information' and with a usb-c monitoring app.
It happens both under heavy load and with a fully charged macbook is idle and fully charged. The charger is barely warm when this happens. Unplugging it from the wall resets it to 70W for another 15 minutes.
I haven’t seen this with my other chargers. So I’m wondering: is this some kind of mac/charger compatibility issue, or does the belkin have a weird 15-minute power limit that kicks in regardless of temperature?
Has anyone experienced this?
