Scientists are testing whether DMT entities are real

In this preprint, some scientists have put forward the idea that our perspective of reality is more of an interface, and what we consider to be reality is simply the experience of conscious agents (i.e. human individuals) interacting with one another. They propose that DMT entities are conscious agents that exist in a manner we can't typically perceive.

I've never done DMT, and have previously taken a more skeptical perspective on these entities, but I think the findings of this could be very interesting. Maybe psychedelics could enable us to perceive layers of reality we are typically blind to.

Turn signals seem to be optional for pedestrians and cyclists

Has anyone noticed how some drivers will happily indicate for other vehicles, but refuse to extend this courtesy when only pedestrians or cyclists are present? Best case scenario I lose all the momentum I've built up cycling downhill because someone doesn't indicate at a roundabout; worst case scenario I nearly get mowed down by an SUV on the school run.

Anyone else hate the subreddit r/NorfFc?

It just reeks of classism and dialect discrimination. I wouldn't mind it as much if they 1) actually understood what northerners speak like, 2) didn't constantly post photos every Reform UK supporter, many of whom who are obviously southerners (do they really think only working class northerners are the ones propping up Reform/Restore?) and 3) didn't associate every bald working class bloke, antisocial wanker, or football hooligan with the north.

I actually found the original meme quite funny, but this sub looks like it's either filled with southerners who assume that the north is full of moronic knuckle dragging racists (who obviously exist everywhere in the UK), or Americans that think that every stereotypically working class British person is from the north.

Honestly, I've seen more things in places like Luton that fit the aesthetic of this subreddit than here up north.

Maybe I'm too sensitive, but I thought the days of stereotyping northerners as stupid or uncultured were (for the most part) behind us as a country.

Edit: removed weird double spacing between paragraphs.

Why does Picard need a mental health professional by his side at every moment on the bridge?

Is it because he's completely insane and could snap at any moment?

"The greens need to focus more on environmental policies" — thoughts on this criticism?

I hear this a lot from people who are generally opposed to the more socialist policies from the party, but looking at the manifesto and website it seems that environmentalist policies still make up the plurality of the content. Are the greens bad at communicating their environmental policies, or is it just not of interest of the media to state the obvious of "green party supports green policies"? What does everyone here think?
