Tempered glass + X4 Pro

I have two strong recommendations for X4 Pro owners:

- Buy the X3 pogo charger cord, works waaay better than the awful dongle.

- Buy the tempered glass screen protector. I was worried it would affect the touchscreen or, even worse, make the screen look worse. I have had the same experience with the X3, the X4, and the Pro: the tempered glass seems to finish the product and actually seems to make the screen stronger, sharper and cleaner. Touchscreen works great with it.

Is it actually better resolution? Probably not, but for me the glossy shine is somehow preferable to the e-ink texture. Without the protector, the X4 Pro felt kind of somewhere in between e-paper and gloss. With it, it feels like it has a stronger identity to me somehow.

Two weeks in, this continues to be my all time favorite reading device.

PS- No kidding, get the X3 charger

PPS- Third recommendation:
Set the brightness at 10% and the warmth at 75% pretty much all the time. Battery holds up well and it’s visible in all kinds of light.

I’ve got them all, X4 Pro is the real deal

I have the X3, the X4, I even have the crappy Aliexpress Murphy eink reader (don’t get that).

My favorite was always the X3, love the side buttons, but I read a lot at night in dark environments and that kept leading me back to my Kindle. If only the X3 had a front light!

Basically that’s what the X4 pro is.
The touchscreen is beneficial in my view and I have not needed to disable it to use the side buttons. You hold the thing from behind, not real sure how you would accidentally touch the screen while using those buttons. Screen resolution, not quite as sharp as the X3 or 4 but man it’s close enough for baseball. Crosspoint is the way to go with all these devices.

Beef with the pogo charger I kind of get, and I’m also kind of like shut up and appreciate this thing. I’m Gen-X, I was happy to sit patiently while dial up modems attempted to load a random local BBS. This current tech is fucking amazing even if you have to place it carefully to charge.

I will admit, the USB-C dongle it comes with does kind of suck. But the X3 pogo charger works much better, I recommend this for the X4 Pro.

I’m three days in and for the first time since collecting these lil guys, I honestly feel like the search has ended.
Highly recommend.

Will it be possible to port the OG Zerowriter innards over to the Fold?

I have the Zerowriter, not entirely loving the flat design, but not able to shell out for the upcoming Fold. Forgive me if this has been covered, but are the original and the Fold the same devices housed in a different shell?
Will the Fold’s .stl files be available to print?
Hoping to hang on and breathe new life into mine, but I’m guessing there are some mods/improvements that make this a pipe dream.
