Massive flaw in David Lloyd Security!?

Random one, but this has been bugging me for months.

My local David Lloyd has automatic barriers at both the entrance and the exit of the car park. On the way in, the barrier just lifts - no card, no code, nothing.

But ON THE WAY OUT you have to scan.

Why is the security tighter on the way out? Surely you’d want to stop non-members getting in, not trap them once they’re already parked?

My best guess was that it’s a headcount thing - I scan at reception when I arrive, then again at the barrier when I leave. But that falls apart the second two people turn up in the same car.

Anyone know the actual reason?

infantile hemangioma causing pain?

i'm just wondering if anyone has had any experience with infantile hemangioma causing pain or discomfort?

my baby girl is four months old and has one on her back

The doctor said it shouldn't cause any issues It's about the size of a coin and is quite raised).

But she is refusing to sleep on her back and keeps flipping over. She's always arching her back in a lot of pain.

We have been putting it down to reflux, which she's receiving treatment for, but I'm starting to think if it could be this.

Google says it needs to be further down the back to really cause any issues, but I just wonder if anyone's had any experience with them in the middle of the back and any similar symptoms.

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Is your gym ALWAYS busy!?

I know all gyms are different, but I’m curious - when do people reckon is the least busy time to go?

I work from home so I can go whenever.

I figured after 9am would be quieter once everyone’s at work, but that’s when off-peak kicks in so it actually gets busier.

Anyway one found a sweet spot?

War is over & I messed up big time

A few weeks ago I decided to move my entire ISA (£60k) from Plum to Trading 212 to save on fees.

It’s been pending for weeks.

On Friday Plum finally sold it. But it’s still not arrived in my T212 account.

So basically my ISA is fully out of the market and in cash that I can’t touch.

JUST as Trump decides to end the war!!

Trying to save a few quid of fees is probably going to cost me grands once markets open tomorrow 😭

Edit- realised this sounded a little insensitive. Of course the war ending is a good thing. I’ve been praying for this to come to an end since it started, not just for the market situation but for humanity. But this posts was more just to highlight how trying to save a bit of fees can backfire.

Giving away money

I’m a fairly generous guy. I was always the guy to foot the bill, pay for the taxi, tip the waiter and treat family at Christmas etc

But now I feel that this conflicts my newly found fire journey. And it makes me feel a bit icky.

So I’m interested - do you find yourself being more selfish to FIRE? Did you stop tipping and buying gifts or is being generous still a priority. Good karma etc

Someone talk me out of putting my net worth into this ETF

I’m seriously considering putting my entire life savings into TECW (SPDR MSCI World Technology UCITS ETF)

Can anyone give me any reason why I shouldn’t?

My reasons are :

It’s concentrated global tech fund that does not allow any company to hold more than 35% of total fund.

It’s mainly hardware & semiconductor companies inside such as NVDIA, APPLE, BROADCOM etc. Only exception is Microsoft.

I feel like ai can ruin any fully software company but hardware has a higher barrier to entry. This is why I’m not super bullish on Google and Open ai etc

Tech stocks are on a bullish trend and although we are at ATH, I think we have another few years. And no matter which new app and software arrives the hardware infrastructure is always required.

And the fact it’s an ETF with multiple companies allows me to reduce risk compared to picking individual stocks.
