Big Oil saw the Nepal floods coming. This wasn't just a tragedy. It was a crime. - Aaron Regunberg

Here it is on YouTube: Big Oil Saw the Nepal Floods Coming - Public Citizen - Sept 15, 2026 (YouTube)

Description: The devastating floods in Nepal were caused by the collapse of a glacier melted by years of historic heat — a climate disaster that Big Oil companies knew would happen decades ago, but did nothing to stop. ~:~ Learn more: citizen.org/topic/climate-energy/fighting-climate-change

Why Don’t They Build Data Centers at Mar-A-Lago?

Sept 1, 2026. TN State Rep. Justin J. Pearson is running for U.S. Congress (TN-09): votejustinj.com ~and~ Instagram @ justinjpearson

Justin’s behind in polling against his Republican opponent Brent Taylor. This is an open seat. The district was solidly-Democratic until May 2026 when the Tennessee GOP rushed a new map into law, which 'cracked' Memphis into thirds, turning the district from Solid-D to R+9 (exactly the kind of thing the Voting Rights Act was meant to prohibit).

Election Day is November 3.

Here’s the video on YouTube: Why Don’t They Build Data Centers at Mar-A-Lago - JustinJ. Pearson - Sept 1, 2026 (YouTube)

Description: You don’t see toxic data centers at Mar-a-Lago or at Elon Musk’s house. Why? Because they think they are the only class of people that deserve clean land, air, and water. The decision to quickly build these data centers in rural places, in Memphis, in Mississippi, are purposeful. ~:~ They believe we are expendable and that we won’t fight back. Well, they are wrong. ~:~ Today, I, along with advocacy groups and concerned and impacted Memphians, came to City Council and made our voices heard: We need a data center moratorium until proper regulations are passed to protect our communities. ~:~ I’m running for Congress to help lead that fight and hold billionaires like Elon Musk and giant corporations accountable for the damage AI is doing to our communities. ~:~ ➡️ VoteJustinJ.com

The largest meteoroid impact ever observed on the Moon

Spanish astronomers have reported the largest impact ever observed of a rock striking the Moon. According to the team, the impact's afterglow lasted a record eight seconds and could have been spotted with the naked eye; observers on Earth would have seen a bright light of almost the same magnitude as the North Star. The event took place on 11 September 2013 and is described in a paper published on 23 February in the Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society.

From the flash, which resulted from the glow of melting of meteor and lunar rock, the team deduced that the impact yielded the equivalent of 15 tonnes of TNT. That is three times higher than the previous record, which was measured in March 2013 by NASA scientists. The authors also estimated that the rock was between 0.6 and 1.4 metres wide and that it weighed about 450 kilograms.
